Oddly, that's what other Summit League teams think about the conference tournament.
Ya play the hand youse been dealt.
Well its not like we are playing in Frost for the confrence tourny. plus its a national tournament and not a confrence which in my blue and yellow glasses changes things.

Please know that I am taking no umbrage with your assertion that you play the hand that you are dealt and I have heard the same sentiment from others in the League. However, I feel I must point out (every change I get - this is becoming a new pet peeve of mine) that our friends from the Summit League are misinformed. The Sioux Falls Arena is not our home. We have not played any games there since last year's tournament. It is close to our campus, by South Dakota standards, but isn't even in our town. I also like to point out that the Sioux Falls Arena is equally close to USD, and isn't far from Fargo.
Our fans and their willingness to travel is what provide us with the perceived or real advantage. So those who long for the days when the Summit League Tournament (Mid-Con back then) was played in empty gyms with no TV coverage, because it provides them a better opportunity to win, remind me of our friends from UMKC who it appears have decided if you can't beat 'em join an easier conference rather then improve your ability to compete.
Back to your point, you are correct. NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament due to the nature of the beast will usually require us to beat someone at some point on their "real" home court if we want to make noise and that is just how it is.
I shall now step off my soap box, with the full understanding that I am cranky due to last night's men's loss and less then my usual amount of sleep.

Go State!
The alternate solution is for SDSU to bid to host first/second round NCAA games in Sioux Falls. Given the attendance at the Summit League tournament, the chances of being successful at winning the bid are pretty good on the women's side.

I wonder why we don't do that. or has the administration looked into it yet and its just not feasable?

Isn't the SF Sports Authority waiting until the new arena is done?
It's scheduled for completion before next years Summit League Championship Tournament,so it could conceivably be ready to host 1st and 2nd round NCAA'S also.
The hard part would be getting the bid to host. What the time frame is to submit bids,i don't know.Any constuction delays would negate any need to submit a bid, as the scheduled completion date and the opening of the SLT is pretty tight.
