I'll definitely take an UGLY win by the women after watching all I could stomach of the men's game. AJ drew up a nice play there at the end. It worked perfectly.
Score? From your posts what are we down by double digits?
LOL.....I'M SORRY,trying to watch the game and give the play by play.....i know i didn't give the score enough(once?,twice?)
My intent was to give factual information, describing the plays(play by play),but it ends up as commentary (my views and thoughts ) instead.I think it's because i want to hurry up and type something so i can go back to watching the game,so i do whats fastest for me.I usually end up listening to Go Jacks more than watching anyway, because i'm really a slow at typing.
Love Mark Ovenden (sp) and JJ commentating together, hope they do it again
how they could go almost the entire game till the 7;34 mark in the second calling Eastern Michigan the Panthers when they are the Eagles is beyond me. the name is in the program for petes sake.
We have to quit starting games expecting all our shots to go in and the opposition to play half-heartedly on defense and not going for rebounds.Everytime we do,it's going into a big hole for our team and committing TO after TO trying to make something spectacular happen(it never does)
Winning teams make their own luck,if the shots don't go in , they steal balls, apply pressure to force TO's, go hard after rebounds, block out and give teams just one shot and few second chances, all little things that keep you in the game til the shots start falling, and they will start falling.
Wow! Sometimes our defense breaks down, but tonight our rebounding went on vacation. Even my go to rebounder Mariah was not getting the boards like normal. We could have been up 10 boards with a little improvement. Position was a problem, but we had a minimum of 6 rebounds go off 1,2, or 3 Jacks into the hands of EMU not counting those times we may have been watching an easy rebound go to EMU that maybe should have been contested. There were a number of turnovers caused by EMU zone on the pass and hold by our offense at the free throw line. EMU did a great job of collapsing on the SDSU ballhandler in the middle of the zone. We did get some good looks at 3 pt shots, but we may have given a few too many turnovers with the slower ball movement. EMU played a good game, but the jackrabbits stay to play 40 minutes and goes to 5-4.
Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Jackedforlife

That really frustrates me as a fan watching the rebounds go off hands, just want to yell "just grab it, you're not playing volleyball"But then i realize that if they did , it would probably just end up a jump ball when the other player then reaches in and grabs the ball too,so it gets tapped around in womens game because most can't keep others from tying them up when they grab a rebound.

On the other hand, EMU could get it in to their player underneath with three Jacks around her and had no problem scoring.Same with the girl from MTU ,she even got her own rebound after a miss and still put it in a few times. It's called agressiveness,or desire to score, whatever fits.
