No, not every player on the South Dakota State women's basketball team - the first to earn a Women's National Invitation Tournament bid while transitioning from Division II - are from this state; just five. But all 13 are from the region, hailing from relatively small towns - combined population of 152,232 - in South Dakota, Minnesota or Wisconsin, all within 500 miles of Brookings.

Good story by Terry. Interesting 8 of the players are from communities under 10,000. 2 from communities under 300. Gives credit to the recruiting of talent. AJ doesn't feel that he will outgrow the lower populated markets.
