    Re: GDT: Purdue v. SDSU

Good match up of like teams. Jacks haven't closed the gap to be ahead, but they are definitely striking distance down 5.

Less than 20 sec to half.

38-33 is how the half ends. We're doing fairly well offensively (as far as I can tell from the radio and the scoreboard). This game has the feel of one where we start taking over in the second half because we wear them down, but it sounds like Purdue is running through their bench about as much as we are. Hopefully we come out strong in the second half.

some stats (from Terry V's game chat)
SDSU gave up 23 pts in the first seven minute but only 15 in the last 13 minutes -- good adjustment
Purdue shooting 47%, SDSU shooting 45%
Purdue is +2 onthe glass and +2 on turnover margin
Lingle leading Jackrabbit scoring with 8
Moses leading scorer for Purdue with 9

Our bench has scored 20 points.

I've noticed that throughout the year,Rayburn for Purdue doesn't shoot as much from three after she misses a few. She's missed a couple,so thats good news for the Jacks.Would like to see Jill warm up a little like she did in the semi's where she hit three in a row.Pleeeeease leave Jill open,....please!

How good could this team be if they just cut their average turnovers per game from 17 down to a reasonable 12/13? So many sloppy turnovers - and it happens every year.

                  Purdue 52, SDSU 40

Purdue's shots going in...they're hot from outside the arc.

                        59 - 45 Purdue

Starting to get away from us. Time out Jackrabbits.

We have our work cut out for us. We've come back before but against this level of competition is going to be really tough. Purdue's field goal average for the season is about 40% but in this game they're have to be over 50%. Will they cool off?

Refs starting to call fouls (on us) after allowing the game to be real physical up to this point. 9:30 to go.
                          Purdue by 10.... 62-52

It'll be interesting reading the post-game stats and stories in this respect: this has to be one of the best shooting performances for the season for Purdue. They have players shooting lights out from the three-point line. (Remember back to 3/22/09, SDSU 90, TCU 55 -- we were unstoppable...moreso than Purdue in this game...hard to watch when on the losing side.)

Moses now has 8 three pointers.

She just tied an NCAA record for three-point shots made in the playoffs.

                                Purdue 78, SDSU 60

                                2:30 to play

Actually, SDSU shooting well from three-point line too.
