We don't need that team back, we have a great team playing in front of us right now.

interviewed the bison coach at halftime---asked her what her offensive plans were since the jacks seem to play such good defense whether you push the ball up the court or try running your sets (coach wanted to walk ball up court and get offense set).

but, of course, they are homers and i get the hint this year they thought ndsu would be much better than they have been. anyway, kudos to the announcers for announcing a very good game and giving jacks their due credit!
I listen to the games on WNAX at work, mainly because it's the only station i can get.I like JJ,but sometimes i have to walk away for awhile, and when i come back, i want the SCORE, within a reasonable amount of time.I like announcers who just describe the action in their own words.JJ in my opinion try's to be too much like Tyler,i think he should find his own "style" and forget about being a tyler clone. It gets too cluttered with useless information when the action gets fast and furious and the announcer can't give you pertinent info because they're more worried about telling you that player X has the most rebounds this year in the Summit.Stick to the game, that's whats important,is it not?Use time outs for the bio's or whatever.

I think JJ does an excellent job with one exception: (as noted by jackdaniel): not enough score updates. If he'd get in the habit of more frequent score updates,...no complaining from me.

Side note: my wife and I watched the game on TV (with WNAX on, of course) and we noted the NDSU team is still wearing uniforms made for men -- or simply not made well. Note how most of their athletes had to do something with the shoulders --- tie them, wad them up, whatever. Compare that to the uniforms SDSU now wears -- see the picture of Jill Young in today's on-line Argus and note the NDSU defender. Just a small details but geez, get some uniforms that fit, NDSU! (Could TransAmBison get out his sewing machine and take a break from making he big-bird costumes? )

IMO, JJ is trying to hard to be an announcer. He just needs to relax and let the game come to him. That is what made Scotty so good for women's basketball and Steve for men's basketball. They did all the research, but knew that the people listening were more interested in the actual game.

To me....that's why I don't watch sports with my wife....I don't care about the uniforms. Except volleyball of course.....

I have noticed too, that the Bison Announcers can be very compliementry when you are beating the dogsh*t out of the Bison and not so nice when the Bison are killing us. You had to be listening to MY OH MY, SCOT MILLER VOICE OF THE NDSU BISON ON KFGO AM 790. I suppose you could count the MY OH MY'S on your fingers since the Bison were not doing so well.

I dont know JJ background and how long he has been doing radio BB but as you said he needs to develope his own style. The tone of his voice is very listenable, just mention the score now and then.

A little bit more of a direct play by play would be nice and the score update is the only real issue. Reminds me of local radio coverage in sf for high school football. If either tean doesn't score for a long period of time forgot about know what the score is.

A picky little detail, but I notice that a lot of times posters misspell Sunnarborg...forgetting to put the "r" in, and just leaving it at Sunnaborg (they did it on the video broadcast of the game from Fargo as well). I know...it's the journalist in me...but everybody likes to see their name spelled right. End of mild rant.

Where do we find a bio on JJ? I see the 2011-12 media guide is not available yet according to GoJacks.com

I always do a little word association to help remember how to spell names ,example,i know her name starts with Sun,there's two n"S, and there's a "ar" like in "sonar"and her name ends in borg, like the alien race in the Star trek episodes.Breaking it down into three segments ,SuNN,AR, Borg. Easy,huh!.....NOT.

Didn't know where to put this but happened to be watching the Iowa State vs. Texas Tech WBB game on TV right now. We bitch alot about the officiating we have for the women and why can't we get the same officials as the Big 12 or Big 10? Well, Anne Schroder is officiating this game and she does a lot of the games at Frost...she seems to be letting them play a little more in this game and not as quick with the whistle as she is in Frost.

The biggest problem with basketball officiating is that it only takes one inadequate ref to make the entire crew look really, really bad. You could have two of the best officials in the country on a crew with Doofus J. Whistlehappy and the two good officials will spend most of the game trying not to strangle the Whistler, I'm sure.
