Not a bad night... The women get a good win over a quality opponent and the men regrouped after a lousy first half and won over SMSU. Just wish the Wrestlers would have won and we could have had the Trifecta!
I think we won this one on depth and good free throw shooting. I was looking at the stats and our starters only played 117 minunte compared to the 171 minutes that thier starters played. That means we got 82 minunte from our bench compared to the 30 they got from thiers. We also got 24 points compared to thier 7. I knew we were going to be deep this year, but I am surprised how fast we are able to get quality minutes out of our freshman.

yes! very nice win. i didn't think AJ's rotation would have too much effect, but, if it was a big factor---i am more than happy to admit i was wrong. anyway, think ORU plays Ark-LR in approx a week or so. will be interesting to see how that comes out---altho, i believe it is at ORU.
It's been a nice week of SDSU basketball. A lot of it has not been real pretty, but a win is a win (especially on the road). I have to admit that both team's recent success persuaded me to buy tickets to this weekend's double-header. There were about 200 reserved seats available on Gojacks.com when I put in my order a few minutes ago (Tuesday night). Hopefully there will be a nice crowd and a couple more wins.
I like this team, they are a blue collar working mans (or womans)team. We were outshot 37.8% to 33.3% ,but had 18 more shots at the basket than they had.We had a 38-25 advantage in rebounds and a 12-3 advantage on offensive rebounds. I noticed that UALR only played the six or so players the majority of the game, and I knew as hard as we play and with our depth we were going to wear them down a little toward the end.We had 5 fewer turnovers than they had.Good game Ladies, get some good rest after a long and productive road trip.

Exactly. Based on the games I have witnessed, Cancun especially, I didn't think this team could win if they shot poorly. The Wash St. game and now this game are forcing me to reconsider. I think last night was a huge win and should go along way towards pushing this team to the top of the conference. I listened and I had that sense the Jackrabbits were in control and going to win throughout the last 10 min of the game. Didn't see that at all against Marist.

We do not see things as they are, we see things as we are.

The Jacks women's team had a real disadvantage. I am hearing they did not get to Little Rock until nearly 4 am the same day they were scheduled to play at 7 pm that evening. Can't imagine how difficult that would be on student athlete's. That's only about a 15 hour break from the flight down to UALR until you actuall play the game. Plus, you likely have team meetings, a shoot around, meals and of course classes to study for. This may hot have been a pretty win but they surely gutted it out under difficult circumstances vs a team that is highly regarded.
