The Jackrabbits host for the first time the Washington State U Cougars. It's the second meeting of the two schools. Last year SDSU won at Pullman, 72-61.

Know your opponent: Last year's edition of the Cougars tied for 7th in the Pac10. WSU finished with an 8-23 record (ouch!). WSU counts a little more than 27,000 system-wide (includes branches in Spokane, Tri-Cities and Vancouver). WSU is the land-grant university in Washington and grants many of the same degrees granted by SDSU: engineering, sciences including Pharmacy and Nursing, etc. Pullman's population is a little shy of 30,000. Pullman is located in the Southeasterly part of the state...rolling hills...wheat country.
The Cougars are traveling the midwest this weekend. Friday they topped Wisconsin, 69-51. The Cougars opened their season with a 60-72 loss at Penn State (after two exhibition wins) and followed that with a 72-60 home win against UNC-Wilmington.
Predictions:
Judging from last year's Jackrabbit win and the scores from two of WSU's three games this year, game-score predictions should include the numbers 72 and 60 . I'm going with Jackrabbits 72, Cougars 60.
Tomorrow will be a good day to watch some basketball at Frost! None of us are adjusted to cold weather and no use shoveling the stuff that arrived today because it's going to melt next week. Road conditions are good: DRIVE TO BROOKINGS AND CHEER ON THE JACKS!
