Heiser sat out today also. Her ankle injury is not believed to be serious. Dietel played 18 minutes and had 5 pts & 3 rebs...looked fine to me.

When will we get officials who recognize that women's basketball is a physical game? These are big, strong athletes. Let them play.
This is what I was trying to say. Thanks for putting it much more eloquently than I could.

Probably started off to hard to quick - heard she has some bone bruises. If you've ever had a knee injury like hers you know that some of the healing takes time... the knee is solid but you have to train yourself how to use the correct muscles again - as you tend to to compensate for the injury. The last game she played she was really favoring the knee -- personally -- I would rather see her play in March than November -- just hope she can get to 100%. I don't think we've really seen what she can do as she had the concussion early last year and then she blew her knee out in January.

I listened as best as I could today and was most impressed with Eide, Paluch and Lingle. They all had great games. Eide had 8 to's which is a little troubling. Jill didn't have her best game, she needs to value the ball a little bit more when she doesn't get a shot, she had 6 to's today. TO's are going to be the achilles heal of this team. SDSU should be able to match up well with most and shooting the 3 won't be an issue. TO's and FT's are going to be the differene makers.[/QUOTE]

I think Eide had too many turnovers, too. I do think that 2 of hers came on offensive rebounds though. It's tough when you get the rebound falling out of bounds and throw it away for a TO. The 1st one I can remember she tried to throw it to Stuart but she wasn't ready and didn't move at all to catch it. I think on the 2nd one, she might have landed out of bounds. The 2nd one could have happened to Jill but I though it was Eide. Either way, 6 TO's would be a bit high anyway.

Eide is the 'Nate Wolters' of this team. When in doubt, get her the ball and let her take it to the basket

I'm a firm believer in letting the injured heal.We still have enough talent to carry on while our injured players heal .I'm sure they will come back playing better than ever, after they've healed completely.

I agree. Ashley had a slightly down year last year, but you could certainly tell during her freshman season that she could become an outstanding scorer. She's a lot more athletic than you might think, too... another one of those smooth athletes who just looks effortless out there.

You also have to be happy with Steph Paluch's continued development as a scorer.
                Holy nutmeg!

I think it helped, as it seemed to me anyway, that AJ instructed his players to spread out the zone much more from when we played St Cloud. There were times against the Aggies that there wasn't a soul close to the basket ,they were all drawn out .
I don't know how well that works man to man, with defenders on you constantly taking swipes at the ball. Then, i would think you could employ more screens, as defenders are less aware of them when they are intent on harassing players and disrupting any kind of flow for the opponents offense. We don't have too much dribble movement,it's mostly passing (i like it, but if our first pass option isn't there, our players get hung up with a defender right on them, sometimes forcing a bad pass to get rid of the ball to avoid 5 sec count)
