  • The Bandwagon Effect

After the season this team has had, is this championship better than the 30-3 years?

Serious question. To come back and win the Summit after the struggles this team has had may be more of a show of character than the more dominant years. Some on this board were using terms like "train wreck" to describe this team in December. Well, the train got back on the track and any 3 or 4 or 5 seed better not take the Jacks lightly.

Maybe the biggest lesson is in fandom and keeping the faith.

Good thing is even the December doubters get to celebrate. It's a great big Jacks family.

That team that ended the year 30-3 was down 14 to Oakland in the title game. I would say they should a fair amount of character.

This championship was not better than the 30-3 team.....no way. That team was the special not to mention the first.

Don't get me wrong this championship was well earned but not better than two years ago.

I doubted this team, and they proved me wrong. Congrats Ladies!

Macie and Kristin had great games today, and real led the team to victory.

32-3 teams is what you meant to say.

No, I said what I meant to say. I meant metaphorically and plural - the years when the Jacks didn't have double-digits losses and when they were kerblastificating opponents every night. In other words, the easy years for fandom.

Things will be ok. Let's get to Frost on Saturday and Monday nights and show them we have their backs, despite all the turnovers, injuries and bad luck!
I posted the above a while back. Patting myself on the back and some of you definitely have your tail between your legs! Stand up and admit it. It will make us all feel better!

Selection Sunday is this coming Sunday for the women's as well. If I remember correctly from recent years, the women's bracket is announced the hour after the men's. Confirmed here:

Didnt they say at the game that the selection show is next Monday? And it also says that in the link.

"This one means the most," Rotert said of the title. "I think we'd all agree on that. To fight through adversity we've had this year, the struggles and people questioning whether we would be able to step up. It's been a slow process, but we've turned it around."

While I don't believe I've ever been ridiculously negative about the team on here, I will admit, about mid-season, I didn't believe SDSU had even a remote shot of dancing this year.

The women really starting playing well to close the season and into the tournament and proved several of us wrong.

                        Way to go Jackrabbits!

Congratulations to the Jacks for turning around their season and making believers out of a lot of us including AJ - "A lot of people were saying we weren't playing well and we didn't. I think I led the bandwagon on that".

I called this team a 'train wreck' in December, but also said that come March, some team has to come into SF and beat us. What a season...
