I'll admit that six weeks ago,I didn't think we would be starting this thread on this site - I think the key was Macie finally getting healthy. Let's hope that Oakland has a letdown after dismantling ORU. If they play like that again today,it could be a long afternoon. To me,Watterworth has been the best player in the tournament - she has both an inside and outside game that is tough to match up against. The Jacks need to dominate inside, and slow down the pace a bit - the lower the score the better.

now, there is no doubt in my mind they can return to the NCAA's for a third time in three years!!! i am expecting another hard fought game---would surprise me if either team runs away with this one.
it will be key to keep sunny and lingle out of foul trouble!!!
GO GET'EM JACKS!!!

Re: Champoinship Game GDT
While Watterworth may be playing like the tourney MVP, there is little doubt that Carnago has a huge impact in the post. Our 2 games against OU were totally different this year. In the OT loss at home, OU had balance. In our kerblastification in Michigan, we dominated the paint and shot well, largley because Carnago was out with an injury. Our post play overshadowed OU's 18 to 6 advantage in turnovers.
Today's game will likely hinge on keeping our TO's reasonable in relation to Oakland's, and our depth in the paint. Carnago dominated the paint yesterday as OU outrebounded ORU by 6 and Carnago had 6 blocks to go with her 15 boards.

Re: Champoinship Game GDT
Keeping the pressure on Carnago with Lingle and Sunnarborg working on her ,the inlet passes have to be timely and on the mark with her out of position and a hair bit late(so she picks up the foul)Take good high percentage shots and don't force up the bad shot.Be patient, hard to do with young team.We are a good shooting team.Lingle and Sunnarborg play smart and stay out of foul trouble, but contest the shot with as little body contact as possible.Lots of late whistles in games so far,...so the ref's aren't really too sure of themselves on a lot of calls.Rebounding is a must, can't give them second chances if we were fortunate enough they missed the first time.I like our chances ,couldn't hurt if Oakland went stone cold, but we can't expect that.Have to play hard the entire game, bench players will be very important to the outcome of this game.Go for it Jacks, keep the streak going!!Last edited by jackdaniel; 03-08-2011, 11:39 AM.

Re: Champoinship Game GDT
Sunnarborg has to show up today and Lingle has to stay out of foul trouble. This is two tourneys in a row that Sunnarborg has struggled, if we are going to win today that will have to change. Strop has done ok filling in for those two but it seems to me she gets lost on defense sometimes.
Should be another great game, Go Jacks!

Re: Champoinship Game GDT
This program continues to amaze me. Starting out the year with an injured Macie and team that was looking for a leader to being in the championship game again.
This year could have been written off as a "rebuilding" one. But, this team adapted on the fly and rebuilt themselves all season long. Now they have gotten things together at the perfect time and have a chance to make Summit history.
Kudos to AJ and his staff and to the ladies themselves for making this happen!-South Dakotan by birth, a Jackrabbit by choice.

The Collegian offers live chat of today's game here: www.sdsucollegian.com/sports/summit-league
Some guy with ridiculous initials (TV) apparently has a live chat, too, which we know nothing about. Only kidding, but check us out for an Argus Leader-alternative. Perhaps that will be our new name.
