South Dakota State’s third-round WNIT game Thursday night has sold out.
Tickets went on sale at 1 p.m. and sold out with some fans still waiting in line.

A crowd of about 6,000 is expected for the game between SDSU and the winner of Monday night’s game between Iona (N.Y.) and Indiana.

Like last Saturday’s second-round win over Illinois State, some tickets for Thursday’s game could be available game day. Those tickets would be part of the allotment given to SDSU’s opponent and then returned when they don’t sell.

WNIT game Thursday sells out

The Women's NIT third-round game Thursday night between South Dakota State and Indiana has sold out.

A crowd of about 6,000 is expected for the game at Frost Arena. SDSU advanced to the third round with a 61-48 victory over Illinois State on Saturday night, while Indiana defeated Iona (N.Y.), 74-71, Monday night in Bloomington, Ind.

Radio coverage of the game will be available on Brookings-based 910 AM KJJQ and Yankton-based 570 AM WNAX, as well as online by clicking the "Broadcasts" link at gojacks.com. Tipoff of Thursday's game is set for 7 p.m. Central Time.

It appears the South Dakota State women's basketball all-time attendance record established Saturday won't last a week.

Besides the allotment set aside for the visiting team, all tickets for South Dakota State's third-round WNIT game against Indiana, scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at Frost Arena, sold in less than four hours Monday.

The volume of interest was so high, according to SDSU athletic director Fred Oien, the company that handles on-line ticket sales for the school had to dedicate more bandwidth because the traffic was preventing some users from accessing the system.

Tickets also went on sale over the phone and at the SDSU box office at 1 p.m. Fans started lining up there around 10:30 a.m. - before the game's date, time or opponent had been announced. Within 20 minutes of their official release, all 2,100 reserved seats were gone. At roughly 4:55 p.m. and with people still standing in line to buy tickets, SDSU ticket manager Christi Williams announced the sell out.  .  .  .  (read more)

I wasn't shure where to put this question.. if its better suited somewhere else, move it...

When they pre-sold the seats was there just reserved and GA or was there a set amount for student ga and a set amount for GA adults...

Just guessing here, but hey probably a set number of total GA tickets they were selling (student and adult) - when that number was hit in whatever combination of sales they probably shut it down. Just speculating though, but it makes the most sense since you can never know who the majority of buyers will be.

SDSU basketball game Thursday to be broadcast on Internet

South Dakota State's game on Thursday in the Women's National Invitation Tournament against Indiana in Brookings will be broadcast on the web.

South Dakota Public Broadcasting will provide the free webcast, which will include post-game press conferences. Coverage begins at 6:45 p.m. and tipoff is set for 7 p.m.

This is so awesome for SDSU. It just shows how excited this school and this state is to finally have D-1 postseason competition here. Besides the USD games, that was the best crowds I've ever seen at Frost. I made it to last Saturday's game, but can't make it to this one. Cheer 'em on for me. I'll be listening on the internet.

I think these home games are/could be the best atmosphere in Frost since the men played in quite a few NCAA Div.2 North Central Regional tournaments at home.
