I don't understand games like this. We looked like a mediocre high school JV team tonight. It was like our ladies had never seen a press and damn sure had little idea how to break it. We had one easy basket and 1000 turnovers against their press. PG play was atrocious other than Jill who was average early but got better later in the game. Post play was also extremely poor. I lost track of how many shots within 3 ft of the rim didn't even draw iron or we didn't catch the entry to begin with.

Bright spots - some of the young ladies got to play some decent minutes and did well for Freshman. Waytashek had some miscues but I thought she played fairly well and can see much potential. Strop played tough as well.

I will say this about the Jackrabbit ladies - they play hard and never quit. It couldn't get more ugly than tonight (I hope), and we were still getting after it till the end. Must play smarter though - lot of cheap fouls. Hopefully we come out with a fire against K Sta

19 pt loss, 38 turnovers = 1/2 pt/TO

But wait, MTSU had 26 TO's, so we had a net of -12 TO's.

19 pt loss, -12 net TO's = 1.6 pts/TO

If we scored 1.6 pts/possession w/out a TO, we would have needed an additional 31.875 possessions to score 51 (which means we would have had 6+ less possessions w/o a TO than with one) and to win the game we would have had to had 44.375 possessions without a turnover.

44.375 - 31.875 = 12.5 (not surprisingly close to the net -12 TO)

We thought the Purdue game was a WTF game, now we know what one really looks like.

I've seen three MT-SDSU games here in Murfreesboro. I've never seen a Jackrabbit squad look so inept. The Lady Raiders weren't doing anything special in the press. But the SDSU guards (especially #10) kept going right into the point of pressure to then try and pass over the defender. Most of the 12 steals from Kortni Jones and Tina Stewart were where they just picked the pocket of the guards. And the backdoor defense from SDSU was pretty poor. Kortni had several dishes to cutting players who had left their defenders behind. Conversely, the SDSU offense never got in the groove of any kind of motion on offense.

I will say that SDSU did the best job of anyone this season in limiting Ebony Rowe inside. Rowe only had 14 points and 5 rebounds which is her worst stat line of the year.

I liked the play of #14. She is going to have one heck of a headache tomorrow, but she could play for my team any day.

We didn't play well,no excuses,that's on us,the Lady Blue Raiders did, good luck to them the rest of the way.I believe we can be gracious when we lose as well as when we win.Thanks for your observations of the game Stephen.

One more stat.....steals ,20 to 9 in favor of MTSU.So, if we didn't throw it away, they just took it.......geeez.They took 9 more shots at the basket(51 to 42), but of those,6 went in (two being 3 pt. shots), raising thier fg% from our.405 to thier .451.That amounts to 14 pts. + they had 5 more ft's.That accounts for the 19 pt spread. Enough of the depressing stats,the sun will rise in the morning.

Perhaps if there is a resumption of this series local chiropractors might want to offer fans a free treatment for every 20 turnovers. A lot of fans probably went home with sore necks.
Can't imagine watching a game at any level that averages over 1.5 turnovers a minute.
