  • It's time for TV

Someone(KELO, KSFY, KDLT, whoever else) needs to begin televising Jackrabbit games like FSN carries all Minnesota games. Sometimes it is tape delayed, but at least you can guarantee to watch. I can guarantee that it will only enhance interest in SDSU athletics and SDSU the school.

Will someone pick up the job? Whoever does, will make a lot of money I think. SD people love basketball.

    Get this Televised

SDPB does a good job with the state high school tournaments so it would be nice to see them try to televise this game. It's already sold out and I would guess finding sponsors even on this short of notice would be easy. Emails from everyone visiting this forum might get them to consider. I am going to try to email them tomorrow and I encourage everyone else to do the same. This is history in the making. GO JACKS.

      Re: Get this Televised

I'm going to email the big 3 stations and let them each see each others names and see what kind of response I get. KELO would be out as they have the NCAA's, but no excuses for the other two! I don't get SDPB here over the border so I'm still screwed.

        Re: Get this Televised

If SDPB does it they web cast everything so youd still be good. They webcast the AA girls tourney last year and the webcast was really good. They cast the video you see on the scoreboard. Can't see how that would be hard to do. And it would beat listening to it.

Gopher Hockey will most likely be shown.

Well it looks like SDPB can't.  >

I got this e-mail from them.

Thank you for the note. SDPB will not be broadcasting this week's game. We are contractually obligated to record the all-state band concerts this weekend. Our crew and equipment will be in Pierre. Thank you,

Next year, I'm told, SDSU will have webcasting available so you'll be able to watch.

Don't be frustrated with SDPB. Like every other state organization, their resources are very, very limited. Also like other state organizations, they can't just broadcast something that's not in their budget. Recall that one legislator tried to cut their budget $500,000 last year because, essentially "we don't need no liberal PBS station showin' gay stuff to our kids" or something like that. So they operate in a less-than-ideal political context. Were they to overspend their budget, even to do something like an SDSU WNIT game, people like Bob Bosse (who's a really good guy) would be out of a job in about five minutes.
                  Holy nutmeg!

I was just bummed that I couldn't see the game on TV.  I don't have a beef with SDPB.  They deserve a pat on the back for getting the game webcast.

I just heard this from someone up on campus (I know, I know trying to confirm) that Govenor Rounds is assisting getting this game on T.V. I believe through SDPB. If I find more I will post.

Well what's the use of having an alumnus as gov. if he doesn't flex his muscle from time to time. It would be a nice thing, my TV is bigger than my labtop.

Plus, he is an SDSU grad who played for the Jacks! He would be a great announcer!
