  • 2025 the first season of the post Knische, post Carillo era

Mia Jarecki says, I am still here- goes 8 for 11 with 2 BBs, helps lead the Jacks to 3 Ws to start the season.

Jarecki, Dumont, and Boyle are in their final season
Barnard and Gentry had some very good stretches last year, but neither finished the season strong (neither one was on the field in the final game vs omaha). are they ready to play big, key roles?

who will step in and fill the holes left by TK, Jocelyn, Roz, Emma O, and Lindsay Culver? all of them are program legends and among the all time statistical leaders

will it be some of the players who have been here with them, but could not get on the field because of their presence? will it be a youngster? hopefully someone is ready to step up

3 different pitchers get the W in the first 3 games. probably be a long time, if ever, before we see another TK

apparently something wrong with Barnard. gets the first batter in the top of 2nd out. gives up a single directly over 2b. exits the mound. I imagine she will be out of the game, but we will see

sophomore Hailey Herman comes in to pitch. i believe she threw about 30 innings last year, but i could be way off??

Jacks did score 4 in bottom of the 1st. all unearned i believe, after Barnard got on on an error

well, Barnard remains in the batting order. cannot see enough of the field and there are no announcers, so I am not sure if she moved to the OF or if she is now the DP. my guess is that she is only hitting the rest of this game

the way Barnard came out, it appeared something was wrong. but again there is no commentary. the only information is what you can see. i guess it is possible early in the season, they are going with a pitch limit and she faced 5 batters and hit the the limit? i guess time will tell

we have used a LOT of pitchers in 4 games. several have thrown in 2 of the 4 games. i cannot recall if anyone has thrown in more than 2. dont feel like going back to the box scores at this moment, but i will guess we have used at least 7 pitchers already this year including 3 true freshman.

Madi Mangulis a junior from Mankato and a transfer from usd, has thrown in two of the games. in my lifetime, I can think of less than a handful of transfers in any sport between these 2 schools. we had the FB DB- Maciaga? go from brookings to verm a handful of years ago, now this one. honestly not sure I can recall another one
