I would think NDSU would have the upper hand because Zak's father (also his HS coach) played at UW-Plateville, Saul Phillip's alma mater. Maybe, maybe not?

Brett VanDenBergh a 6-5 junior for DePere, Wisconsin can now be added to the offer list according to Wisconsin Sports Network. His other DI offer at this time is from NDSU.

Another young man from the state of Wisconsin has been offered a scholarship for the 2012 class. Wisc sports reports that Nick Arenz of Onalaska has an offer out from us. He is a 6-8 foward with previous offers from UW Milwaukee, UW Green Bay, and USD.

I talked to a teammate of Kyle's over the weekend and he is apparently having a good summer. He played in Las Vegas recently in the AAU tournament and was thrilled with conversations he had with Tubby Smith. They were on the same flight and Tubby took time to let Kyle know he was still interested in him being a Gopher.

Apparently, UNI still resonates well with Bauman too. UNI's recent success in the Big Dance had quite an impact on the young man.

Watched him play last night aganist Sioux Falls Christian. Back to the basket player with good feet and not afraid of contact. Good frame for a Junior in High Shool, with probably about the same body type that Dykstra had as a Junior.

Aggressive on the boards and good passer when moving the ball up after made baskets.

Saw him play last year and he had good range with his jump shot,even out to the 3 point line. Good shot blocker,and tough inside. I could see him being more of a post-up player than Dykstra - he would compliment him well.

The Timberwolves' Shootout took place this weekend and a couple of players the Jacks are interested (and thankfully, they're both bigs) participated in the event.

- Mentions SDSU has interest in both Nick Arenz (2012 recruit, 6'8", 210 lbs, Onalaska, WI) and Zach Kraning (2012 recruit, 6'9", 210 lbs, Viborg,SD).

The Czar also recaps the Viborg/Hurley vs. Roseville game:
- SD Class B Viborg/Hurley more than held their own against MN Class AAAA (highest) Roseville.

MinnesotaPreps 2012 rankings are out and list Zach Huisken, 6-9 PF/C from SW Minnesota Christian as no. 6 and Kyle Bauman, 6-8, C, United South Central no. 10. Other bigs in their top 20 include Ryan Dahl, 6-9, C, Holy family no. 13 and Damien Reinke, 6-7, PF, Becker no. 15.
