Team has certainly turned it from last year. A loss is always worse than a win but nothing to hang your head about there.

That was fun. Would have been more fun to win, though.
Yes it would but at least we did not embarrass ourselves as our lovely ladies did earlier today.

Sometimes freshmen play like freshmen. Wolters is going to be great, heck he's already right there, but we saw an 18-year-old on the road there the last minute or so.... Great move to the basket without a minute left and had he scored....

I hope we get these guys again in Sioux Falls. I do not like ORU or their sanctimonious fans (visited their messageboard for a short time). I do like Scott Sutton though.

Darn. The Jacks are so, so close. Much better game than the women's game, though. Good game, guys.

Post-game with Dale Moss. He notes we don't have much of an inside game right now and have to work on that.

ya tuff loss but we gave them a heck of a game that was fun to watch. Pretty evenly matched teams.

Take this outside shooting with the young post, 2 and 3 kids this year and coming in next year and Jacks are going to be really salty.

Good effort from the men tonight. This is how we should compete in every game. It would have been easy to let the game get out of hand a couple of times in the second half. but they hung tough. Definitely could have won this game.

                      Nagy:

One thing we did tonight is we competed.
Tricky playing Oral Roberts at their place. They don't lose here often. They're number 1 rebounding team in the league, more athletic than us...sure we can watch the film and see mistakes but the number one thing is we competed.

I think they're closer than close.

I think they're pretty much there. They know what they need to do (and what they need to not do) and they know how to do it, and they know that they can do it at home and on the road vs. everyone in the Summit League.

They're there. It's a matter of working on the rough edges and adding a few more parts, now.

                          More Nagy:

We took 29 threes and only 13 free throws and they shot 30 (free throws). 'can't win like that'.
Tough to beat Oral Roberts on an inside game.
Morrison is very good, very talented. But, once we got some things straight, did a better job on him.

Rebounding: Physical game. Hard game for the officials. Love to see our kids look a team in the eye that's supposed to be the class of the league...thought we did a great job competing.

                            My thoughts:

Nagy was a little subdued but certainly didn't sound crushed. Nobody likes to lose but Coach was sincere about his comments on the team competing and looking the supposedly-better team in the eye on their home court and competing with them. He liked that. He can build on that.

Hopefully the two guys from the Netherlands-America aka Rock Valley Iowa can hit the ground running and give us inside strength and depth. If so, we will see a very improved Wolters and one that we have not seen this year so far. Dale Moss and coach both alluded that the inside game is not what it should be and we dont have enough size that would help Wolters to make better drives.
