I live in Nebraska so I hear and read about the Huskers all the time. The Huskers have a big game coming up on Sunday against in-state rival Creighton, so maybe we can catch them looking ahead. I'm not convinced they are all they great. Their best player is Joe McCray and he is out of shape and not having a good year so far. They usually run a very slow plodding offense but claim that they have better athletes this year and are going to run more.
They are 5-1 at this point and have played Marquette and beat them pretty easily. Marquette as we all know blew SDSU out. However I definitely think an upset is possible here and sure hope we get one. Beating a Big 12 team on the road would do wonders for program and for all the nonbelievers out there.
I will be working tonight but listening when possible. I don't see us winning this game unless Nebraska comes out totally flat and overconfident.
I think we need to continue to push the ball and take the first open shot. The only way I see us upseting these teams is to get hot outside the arc (Gardner-Web vs Gophers), rebound like crazy, and play unbelievable pressure defense for 40 minutes. Slowing the game down may result in fewer turnovers but thats at the expense of fewer points. Not sure this team has the talent to run 30 seconds of the shot clock every possesion.
So, my favor would be to run the Huskers ragged, shoot the lights out, grab 70% of the rebounds, and shut down their best player or two forcing someone else to beat us. Even if all this happens I still think NU wins at home. I'll be listening.
Anyone watch the UNC vs Kentucky game Saturday? A UNC loses top 7 scorers, very young, overmatched against most, and Roy Williams has the running and gunning. Another nice win last night over Sodeberg and St. Louis. I think Nagy is a lot like Williams.

I'm leaving in about 1 hour for the Neb game. I am still hopeful of an upset tonight. Maybe it is blue skies, but remember this Jackrabbit squad was only outscored by Kentucky by 4 points in the second half, I think. We definitely have the ability and the talent to compete. Hopefully we can get back on track with a strong showing against a big 12 team tonight.
Also, so far this year we have played teams from the SEC, Big 10, and now the Big 12. Sweet!!! ;D

One more thing before I go. I hope I have to eat a lot of crow tomorrow for my posts! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Good luck to the Jacks.
The competitiveness of the second half vs Kentucky is long gone and replaced by blowouts vs Illinois, Marquette, Cal-Fullerton (despite a gutty 2nd half), and UWM as well as a bad loss to a bad SEMO team. I'm not trying to sound pessimistic but people need to be real about this team right now. We are not in a good position to compete against a team like Nebraska. Thats just a fact. It doesn't mean we can't win it just makes it less likely and not expected.
