A competitive basketball team should really help the numbers out as well. It will be interesting to see what the figures will be like if the Jacks continue to play at the level they are at right now.
I think this is a great idea. Should get a few more butts in the seats, help for event staff planning, and more people in the seats should created a better buzz in the arena and community.
Only other comment I would make is that it would be nice to be able to buy these someplace in Sioux Falls, Watertown, and maybe Huron. Thursday/Monday games are a tough sell when you have to drive there and back in winter weather, then go to work and get the kids to school the next day.

I maintain my theory that in 5-10 years the only way you get into a game is if you have season tickets or know someone who does. I would be surprised if capacity is much over 5500 once chairbacks are put in on the upper south side.
For historical capacity reference, when the women's team played Indiana in the WNIT a few years back, just over 6000 fans were in Frost. Not many empty seats in there that night.

i have not seen the men play yet because my wife broke her kneecap and its not been possible for her to do so many steps. but hopefully by the oakland dh, she'll be able to do the steps better and we can sit in the GA or she can try to climb 13 more steps. im excited to see them play, no matter what happens between now and then.

They do have an elevator you can use to get to the second floor. Usually there are also chairs available to sit by the railing so you don't have to worry about steps. Just for future reference.
Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--

You should be able to buy the tickets over the phone for $5, by calling the ticket office.
I don't think you want them for sale at Lewis &c. because they'd be sold via Ticketmaster and come with the usual surcharges.

A good and aggressive move by Sell. I remember when the Stampede came to Sioux Falls. I knew people would love them if they could/would just get out and see them. That, IMO, would be half the battle, getting people out to see them. I feel SDSU basketball is similar to that. $5 tickets won't make alot of money, short term. But it's something that could really payoff longterm.
