    Re: Minnesota

I also noticed that Frias was absent from the bench. I know he came in with some baggage, so my real hope for the holidays is that he will be able to complete his education and be a productive member of society.

Did anyone else notice (how could you miss it!!) the poor quality of the sound system in Williams Arena?? There seemed to be some issues with their center board also. Makes us realize how good we have it in Frost these days

    "Hoppy" Holidays!!!!

Listening on the internet, we did not hear much of anything except when UM scored and of course the student section with their "Air Ball" chant especailly whenever Matt Cadwell started TO impact or when he missed a shot.

I dont know anything about Jose Frias, but since he has been sitting a lot for the past few games, I get the feeling that Coach Nagy and he are not bonding like they should. If he moves on to somewhere else it may not be a big surprise.

That may take some real soul searching on Jose's part and re-establishing his relationship with the coaching staff.  When good athletes don't get playing time, there generally is a very good reason(s).

It would be good for the program if you got an alum saying good things about SDSU in NYC.

I want to be positive about this and hope Jose does some great things before he leaves.

On College Hoops Y2k this afternoon: SDSU 79, Minnesota 55.

Yes, that's the new video game.

Yeah, he got into a confrontation with coach Wilber. Team rule not to wear hats after the game, and Jose was wearing a hat. He might be suspended for 2 games.

Tough game, once UM slowed it down to a half court game, their size and talent were too much to handle. We made some meager runs when we were able to speed the tempo up a bit (within 13 in the second half), but Munson did a nice job of keeping his team focused on their game plan.

I thought Cadwell played well. Not sure why Heien didn't play much after being a difference maker for several games. The big guys played hard, but their size and quickness was just too much for us.

Turnovers were very bad again, frustrating to watch. We need to find a way to take care of the ball. Everybody had at least 2 turnovers (except one player, won't mention any names. 0 TO's in 20 minutes ).

If the wearing hat scenario has substance, its unfortunate.

I don't think most fans like me are aware or know all the team rules that are put upon the student athletes. I dont consider the rules trivial because, these students are representing the Univerisity with their athletic skills in exchange for a subsidized education. I say subsidized as I have no idea on how the scholarship money is being handed out. None-the-less there is a decorum for all representatives of SDSU to follow, and I would not tolerate unsavory behaviour in public by a cast from the  drama dept or the music department any more than that from the athletic dept. They are all representatives of SDSU. So Coach Wilber is hardly the oger here, just doing his job in enforcing the team rules if this is indeed what happened.

I just hope Jose will rebound with the new year and show us what he truly is capable of doing on the court. I think he is a very good athlete that seems to be struggling in fitting in here. Lets hope Coach Nagy can get to the bottom of this problem and can motivate Jose to where he should be in contributing to the team.

I got to admit listening to the game was very frustrating and disappointing. I think UM got a big wake up call from their Gardner-Webb game, and took SDSU very serious.

The turnovers are so unfortunate, and I dont think they  would improve if I got out on the court.    : : : ;D

I think our guys need to regroup. Hopefully a practice before the Butler game will get the kids back on track where they can play a descent game.
