    Re: Minnesota

Heard Sid Hartman say this morning that he will go to the Timberwolves game as the Gophers will not have any trouble with SDSU! Go Jacks!

      Re: Minnesota

I recall Sid saying nice things about the Jack women after they put a huge scare into Minnesota a couple of years ago.

I predict that even though Sid will miss the Gopher/Jackrabbit game, he'll be saying nice things about the Jacks tomorrow morning on the radio...he'll make a couple of excuses about Grier and Stamper being absent from the bench but in the end: Cadwell matches his best effort for the season and Gilbert has his best effort of the year, Jacks 63, Gophers 57.

Monson will think about the good days at Gonzaga and he'll remember how much fun it was to take a much smaller school up against a Big 10 or Pac 10 program -- and win -- and in a way, he'll be a little envious of Coach Nagy.

Sid Hartman, you are now on my list of people to hate! You get a lump of coal this year.

Don't count on Hartman saying anything positive about SDSU or NDSU these days as he has said numerous times he thinks it's a huge mistake for the State U's to go DI. I'm not going to lose sleep over it and hope we challenge the Gophers tonight. I look forward to the next several years playing the Men and Women Gophers as I think we will eventually knock them off and gather their respect and attention. I think we can do that whether we win or lose tonight.

I have heard, but not sure if it is true, that alot of the season ticket holders sell the non-conference games, so I may try to pick some of those up.  What is everyone else doing?
I plan to pick up tickets on the street. I understand it is fairly easy. Should be able to get them for less than face value. The more you buy the better the deal. There will always be tickets at the gate, $30 a pop.

Minnesota is a talented team. Grier won't play for teams rules vilation. Stamper will sit out with a sore knee. Even without them their talent and depth greatly exceeds ours. They blew grambling away and it will be tough for our kids to hang with this team. Tollacksen is huge. The Gophers do have some motivation/discipline problems and that should play in our favor. All that said, this will be one tough contest for the Jacks to stay in.

I'll say it again: Sid Hartman hasn't had an original thought in his head since sometime in the 1960's. He's simply a parrot for whatever his "close, personal friends" tell him.

Parrot icon, don't forget that part. The only retirement he'll ever have is a permanent one. His son Chad does a decent job with the T-wolves and on KFAN.

                    Re: Minnesota

I heard a couple of homers on KFAN discussing their disappointment of the Gophers non-conference schedule of NDSU, grambling and So Dak State among others. I hope you whoop their a$$ tonight.

I suspect that was PA and Dubay. I wish we could stick it in their face (or somewhere else) but I just don't think this team has the talent or depth this year. However, that is why they play the game.

We have already consistently beaten the DII teams in the state of MN (forget last year). Now its time to move on to DI. Our program isn't at its strongest right now but we'll get there.

actually I think if was Chad Hartman and his sidekick. I was the guy who comes on after Dan "the common man".

Same old story, 9 turnovers for 9 1/2 minutes. No Jackrabbit offensive flow at all.
