    Re: Denver GDT

Coach Nagy kind of danced around a question about the lineup during the post-game interview.
I agree that freshmen Fiegen and Wolters played well and looked good. Denver shot exceptionally well, initially from 3-point land and then short gimmes from backdoor cuts.
    This space for lease.

I think we're seeing a similar situation on the men's and women's teams. Like AJ's squad, the men's team has a lot of new, young players who are trying to establish their role. It takes a little while for the players and coaches to figure out what works. But also like the women's team, the men are showing they have a lot of talent, which means it's a matter of when and not if they play well.

I think we're going to be OK. Look at all that Wolters and Fiegen have added to the team already. White has also given us good minutes. Add those minutes to the play we always get from the Callahans, Clint, and AC, and get Kai going, and you've got a solid lineup that will score some points.
      Holy nutmeg!

This is what I thought about Denver's shooting, too. I wonder how AC would have matched up against them defensively. I think even their post players could shoot the 3. They had 1 starter that didn't try a 3 but the other starter and Hooper were 3 for 3 from outside the arc. I think Hooper would have just drove around AC. It was Feigen that he drove around for his dunk but I think AC would have had those same problems. In the second half, SDSU gave up 13 layups. I don't remember how many there were in the first half but it was just about as many. Denver's coaches were bitching about fouls but I think that's part of SDSU's defense giving up layups. There were 2 bunnies at about the 1:30-1:00 stretch that SDSU didn't foul on either one of them. Some of the back door cuts gave them wide open bunnies but even when SDSU was there, they didn't foul.
