9. Three from Denison High and another from Charter Oak-Ute sign NCAA Division I basketball letters of intent
In early November, four area seniors signed national letters of intent to continue their basketball careers at the NCAA Division I level starting in 2006-07.
Seniors Nicole Clausen and Lindsey Swanson of Denison-Schleswig both signed to play at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.
The two 1,000-point scorers currently sit one-two in scoring for the 7-2 and sixth-ranked Lady Monarchs.
Denison-Schleswig senior Thomas Bassett inked with South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota.
And, Charter Oak-Ute senior Kala Kuhlmann put her named on the dotted line to play college basketball at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
Kuhlmann was the state's leading scorer as a sophomore and is moving up fast on the 2,000-point plateau for the Lady Bobcats.
