Re: Men's Basketball: SDSU at Utah Valley State

Final 62-41. Casey hits a three to a least get us in the 40s. An embarrasing night for everyone including the coaching staff! 24 Turnovers and just 5 assists.

      Nagy on WNAX:
I don't know if this is the low point of the season, we've had so many of them One of the problems is spending 7 or 8 days on the road, the kids play like they just want to get home.

A lot of travels tonight. A lot of guys putting it on the floor who shouldn't be. Don't have enough offensive players on the floor. Cadwell can't get 15 or 20 shots, they're just smothering him. He's just worn out at this point.

It's amazing that we got beat by just 21. Look Matt and Ben in the eyes and there's nothing there.

Mohamed is a good shooter, people have backed off of him, he's starting to gain the confidence.

Michael and Andre played hard, Andre competed better than anyone on the team, he's just not shooting very well.

They just played harder, they're a lot different team here at home, it's a lot like Northern Colorado in the old NCC. They just played so much harder than our kids did. It's hard to know what to do when you don't get consistent effort. Our players are very confused. I don't know if we've had 12 points in a half in the 11 years I've been here.

I've been struggling, I feel bad for the guys, I'm not angry with them. It's hard to be yelling and screaming. Assistant coaches put in a lot of hours and they're not very happy about the whole deal. I worry about our guys mentally. Physically-I think there are times we need to be tougher on them but I don't know if the will be able to respond.

All the travel wears you down. I don't play and I'm tired. We've been beaten so badly so many times this year, I don't know if the guys can bounce back. I can't answer that, I can just ask the question (can you bounce back).

Nagy spent a long time with the team in the locker room before coming out to talk to Imming.

Wasn't UVSC once a community college not all that long ago? I know that a former Utah CC converted, not sure if that's the one...

Its getting towards the end  of the seasonand maybe thats a good thing. I know we said the same thing last year.

We are at the point where there are no more options except to pull some redshirts and that would be a real injustice to those kids if he did the pulling now. Maybe as Nagy said in the post game interview, they have tried too many things to get something going and instead of responding in a consistant and productive manner, we seem to have our guys going in the opposite direction. I dont have any answers, and I am as frustrated as the rest of the board. :-X

This is my understanding. They chose to go directly to D1 rather than go NAIA or D2.

Correct. They will be full D-I in 2009-10, one year after SDSU will be full D-I.

What is the story with Ben, Is he hurt/sick? I noticed he was 0-2 0 points and 5 fouls last night. This is definetly not the same player that hung 25 on Kentucky.
