Jackrabbits host Texas-Pan American in Pork Classic
The South Dakota State University men's basketball team wraps up a three-game homestand Saturday night by hosting fellow Division I independent Texas-Pan American.
Tipoff for the 34th Annual Pork Classic is set for 7 p.m. at Frost Arena. The pre-game barbecue begins at 5 p.m. on the Frost Arena track. Barbecue tickets are $6 per person and can be purchased in advance at the Jackrabbit Ticket Office or at the door.
Pork bundles will be auctioned during the barbecue and at halftime.
It may be the most winnable game (is that phrase banned?) left on the schedule. The Jacks will play Texas Pan Am again later this month, but the second one will be down there. Go, Jacks. Play tough and have some fun.
It will be interesting to see what a full week of practice will do at this point in the season. I think our football guys will be acclaimated a bit more, and hopefully Steffen and Wagner can add to the boards and the inside. Fox and Campbell should give us back up with the guards.
Who knows when this investigation will end. I dont see anything good from this incident no matter what developes from the investigation.
I'll guess the team will show improvement from the Indiana Purdue game. ... Another challenge for the program at this point should be fighting fan apathy. It would be more fun if fans could be talking up a successful team, but arguing over shortcomings beats not caring.

I agree 100% here. Cheer when their winning and keep expecting them to get better. Cheer when their losing but keep making them aware of expectations.
This year is a disappointment for all but certainly not that suprising given the loss of Holdren, the lack of DI experience and a team of guys who didn't know each other before this year.
