I was looking at the men's Mid-Major poll and see that NDSU has 3 votes. Congratulations to the Bison.

To be in the Mid-Major poll you have to be from one of the following conferences:
American East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Continent, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Sun Belt, West Coast.
I was trying to see if the Women also had a Mid-Major poll and I could not find one. So based upon the Sagarin RPI ratings I came up with a Mid-Major poll for the women.
1. Indiana St, 20-2, RPI Rating 29
2. Old Dominion, 14-7, RPI Rating 30
3. Bowling Green, 21-2, RPI Rating 39
4. Western Kentucky, 18-5, RPI Rating 48
5. Hartford, 20-2, RPR Rating 49
6. Chattanooga, 21-3, RPI Rating 56
7. James Madison, 18-4, RPI Rating 62
8. Delaware, 17-5, RPI Rating 69
9. UW-Green Bay, 17-5, RPI Rating 77
10. Hofstra, 14-8, RPI Rating 78
11. Eastern Michigan, 17-6, RPI Rating 81
12. Middle Tennessee, 15-8, RPI Rating 82
13. Univ. Northern Iowa, 15-7, RPI Rating 84
14. Western Illinois, 17-4, RPI Rating 85
15. South Dakota State Univ., 15-8, RPI Rating 86
The interesting thing about this poll is it shows just how close we are in passing 4 or 5 teams in the RPI that are Mid-Major schools. If SDSU can win out and if some of these schools stumble, it will improve our chances of getting into the WNIT.
Of interest is Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan, both from the Mid-American conference. If Eastern Michigan wins their conference tourney, then they will advance into the NCAA and Bowling Green would get an invite into WNIT. I don't think NCAA would take two schools from Mid-American. We need to root for Bowling Green.
Same with Indiana St. and UNI of Missouri Valley Conference. If UNI loses in their tourney, there RPI may drop below SDSU.
The Sun-Belt has Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee. We have to hope that Western Kentucky wins the auto bid into NCAA and Middle Tennesse loses one of there remaining games so SDSU is ranked ahead of them.
Also if SDSU was in any of these conferences, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid Eastern, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southland, Southwestern or West Coast, we would be leading their conferences based on RPI.
Go State!!! ;D ;D ;D
