Cadsev-have you seen Yuyada from Roosevelt play and do you have any impressions of his potential. As mentioned in a previous post I saw him recently and felt he was the best player on the court in terms of rebounding, defense and ability to get to the hoop.
Emanuel plays hard and plays well above his 6'1" size. He's athletic and a tenacious HS rebounder. That said, he's limited in his shooting and ball handling skills. I doubt that he'll be recruited above the NAIA level, but would be a solid fit for any NAIA type school. On a side note he's a great kid.
Your assesment is probably right on. Would love to see what a kid like this could do against a Paterka or Krogman. When you consider the background of where a kid like Yuyada came from and that he has only played for a couple of years it's amazing he has risen to start for a good basketball program like Roosevelt.
Major credit needs to go to Telly Michel who started a summer traveling team for the refugee kids in S Falls called the S. Falls Outlaws. The team has been in existance for two years but have made great strides and given these kids an opportunity to play HS hoops at the varsity level.
Did anyone in Brookings get a chance to see Cordova and the RoughRiders beat Brookings last night? Cordova scored more at the half (11) than Brookings entire team (10). He finished with 17 in Roosevelt's 60-32 win.
I spoke with my uncle Bob about Cordova a couple of weeks ago in the middle of casual conversation. He thinks he has better offensive skills at this stage in his career than Joe K. Joe had the better all around game (could D and really rebound) but Cordova's more polished offensively. Pretty big compliment for Cordova considering Joe K is playing great as a true frosh for the Badgers. Granted, Joe was never considered a scoring machine, but he's a top 20 D1 talent. Also, consider Cordova moved to SD with relatively zero basketball skills and you can see how far he's come and potentially how high his ceiling is. I know Coach Nagy wants him to get better down low and to show more tenacity around the hoop in regards to rebounding, etc. The plan seems to be to redshirt him next year and let him mature a year. I think he's going to be something special when all is said and done.

Just from what I've seen on a few highlights this year, Cordova really seems to pass the ball well for a big man. His mid-range jumper looks pretty fluid as well.
