San Diego State (20-8; 13-3 Mountain West Conference), 2006 MWC regular season champions and winners of 12 of its last 14, 14 of its last 17 and 16 of its last 20 games, gears up for next week's MWC tournament with a non-conference game against South Dakota State (9-18 ) Friday night at Cox Arena.  .  .  .

The Aztecs clinched their first outright MWC regular season title and just its third league title in school history Wednesday night with their 91-72 victory over Wyoming.  .  .  .

Well I will be driving to LA tomorrow and hopefully I can catch the game on the radio. I forgot that Steve Fisher is their coach. If you remember he coached at Michigan and led them to the NCAA championship with Glenn Rice. Should be a tough game, hope we can pull one out.

Kids are tucked in their beds, wife is at a "baby shower", Jacks are playing an NCAA tourney team. I'm drinking a beer and life is just about right.

Just down the road the NCC will be deciding who wins the post-season with two afternoon games in Mankato in front of what I would guess will be 500 fans. Do I wish SDSU was playing in Mankato this weekend? No I don't.

I do wish we would defend the damn 3-point line.
