  • Oru 2.0

I noticed in an article or his blog yesterday TV mentioned that the game was going to be carried on FSCA or some Fox Sports Affiliate. I was just flipping through my DirectTv channels and saw that the game will be on channel 615 Thursday night.

Same channel for Midcontinent customers that the SDSU/Illinois State game was on this past season.

These "extra" sports-channels have been well-worth my $5/month, since I signed up for it right before the football game! Watched ORU/Western ILL. the other week on FSN Central, which is another channel you receive with the package through MidContinent.

The game is on FSC Central on Knology in the Yankton area. I'll be in Mexico so DVR will have to be good enough for me. I'll be following along via the internet.

          Thanks for the heads up!

On Midcontinent it's 316 and like someone already said, you have to buy the sports package, which is well worth it.

I'm wondering the same thing. I have the sports package, but I can't seem to find it on my guide for tomorrow night. Does anyone know exactly which affiliate has the game? I believe I have them all.

I checked on Mediacom and it's going to be on Channel 173. Watch it on TV, turn down the volume and listen to WNAX.

Thanks I believe Channel 173 is a pay for view. It is on my system. I guess I can call and find the cost though.

The rabbits haven't played ORU close once yet. But there is always a chance.

It's not pay per view, but you need to have the expanded basic midrange channels.

                        From the Tulsa paper:

ORU's weapons begin to peak; is it enough?

By MIKE BROWN World Sports Writer
                        2/26/2009

Kyron Stokes was on the floor less than a minute when the ball came to him for an open 3-pointer last Thursday night.

"I just shot it and it went in. I was like, 'Let's have a fun night,' " the Oral Roberts guard said.

The 6-foot-5 Stokes has struggled offensively for much of his redshirt freshman season. But the early trey ignited a breakout week.

He scored 26 points in two games, helping the Golden Eagles to key Summit League blowout wins at Southern Utah and Missouri-Kansas City. . . .

The Eagles are still alive for a fifth straight conference title as South Dakota State visits on Thursday night.

If they beat the sixth-place Jackrabbits (7-9, 12-17), they can at least tie for the title when North Dakota State visits on Saturday for the final regular-season game.

ORU will be trying to extend its four-year, home conference winning streak to 34. SDSU is still looking for its first conference road win since joining the Summit League last season.

"We've had our chances and I'm kind of getting sick of (close road losses)," Jacks head coach Scott Nagy said.

The Jacks lost at Western Illinois on a halfcourt shot at the buzzer, lost by two at UMKC and lost at Southern Utah when the T-birds forced overtime with a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Nagy's team is still growing, with two junior and three sophomore starters.

"They're so young," ORU head coach Scott Sutton said. "They're going to be a lot better next year. When you talk about dark horses (for the conference title), I'd put them in that category.

The Jacks seem better than the team ORU beat in December. They've won six of their last 13 and been in every game except for a 96-74 loss at North Dakota State. . . . (read more)

                          Re: Oru 2.0

This is going to be a tough test. ORU is 34-0 at home in Summit League play since sometime in 2005 and obviously we haven't scratched the surface.

The way I look at it is the team could really send a message to the rest of the conference and signal we are a team to be dealt with if they could do what nobody has for the last 4 years.

Is it likely? Probably not. Maybe they will play loose tonight because there isn't as much pressure since nobody else has taken ORU down in Tulsa. I want to see them come out fighting and put themselves in a position to be in the game down the stretch. At some point they are going to bust loose and get the gorrilla off their back. Why not tonight?

                            Re: Oru 2.0

Based on those 2 facts: ORU 34-0 at home over last 4 seasons and SDSU being 0-16 in conference road games you just have to know that there is a slim chance of a victory tonight.

Can it be done - sure. Will it be done - I hope so. That's why they play the games. Let's go get 'em Rabbits.

There are some things that may help the Jacks out a little bit going into this game.

                              1. ORU may be looking past us. They have a showdown with NDSU on Saturday night which I'm sure looms large for them. We haven't given ORU a good game yet so why would they think the Jacks would be different tonight.

                              2. Clint is back. It will be fun to see how things go assuming that Dale continues to see more minutes.

                              3. The Jacks have nothing to lose tonight! They're in the tournament and all that pressure is gone! Road win or not they are in! Maybe they can just relax, play freely, with intensity, like they have at home.

                              4. The timing is just right for the Jacks to do it. These kids have to be very fired up after all the struggles to know that they are going to be playing in Sioux Falls in front of a very partisan crowd. That's what you want as a team is a chance at the dance!

Hey, it is a long-shot but like JackrabbitGuy said, its why they play the game! I expect a great effort from the Jacks tonight!
