Any SDSU fan saying we need a guy like Mueller is walking a fine line, but I tend to agree. Had he not been wearing Red we wouldn't hate they guy so much. He was a great teammate, no doubt about that. Its always the opposition that hated him, not the guys in the same color shirts.

Let me clarify, we need a guy who plays like him. A guy who isn't afraid to have the ball in his hands when the game is on the line. I don't think we have that right now and I am not sure you can teach that type of toughness.

Like I said I am not a fan of the guy, but I can admit he was a hell of a player.

Don't get me wrong, he pissed me off as much as the next guy wearing yellow and blue. But, had 'the player' (insert Bill Parcells joke here) been wearing yellow and blue, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have bothered me quite as much. There probably are some other hardcore SDSU fans that will disagree with this idea though, and that is understandable.

Success right now IMHO is:

One road win to finish out the season (most likely at Centenary) and get that monkey off the team's back.

One or more wins in the conference tournament, to finally break the league perception of SDSU as a doormat.

Wildest dreams: Somehow manufacture a win at ORU as well as Centenary, roll into the tournament with some confidence (at last!) and steal the darn thing away from NDSU, to go into the Big Dance and get clobbered by Pitt or UConn or Oklahoma or whoever. (And, if we're *lucky*, play in and win the Dayton play-in game, which I believe would count as a tournament win for purposes of getting the Summit League an extra share of the income!)

Biggest nightmare: Absolutely lay an egg in Tulsa, get beat by Centenary, and come out flat and uncompetitive in Sioux Falls and get run out of the building.

Didn't know they changed that starting last year. Interesting.
