    Re: Stu Whitney

I haven't said much about Stu and I only have one thing to say:

Stu should just go back to Michigan.

Just wondering what the more knowledgable Jackrabbit community thinks of Stu's insight here?
Saul Philips is not who I, nor you, want our current or future coach to be modeled after! I am not trashing Saul here, but mark my words if he moves on from NDSU, it will be a horizontal move or a downgrade in job. He is winning with Tim Miles' players right now (I could coach NDSU's team with Woodside running the point and they would still probably win the conference) and I personally don't think he has recruited very well since he got there (not sure if Tviedt was his recruit or not, but that would be the exception if so). Bison fans will be calling for his head soon enough.
Kemo, if you are the same kemo1283 from that blog you have no business talking about Whitney after that garbage.

For the record NDSU fans have been pretty respectful of Nagy and SDSU, I don't know where that post came from but I hope whoever that guy is in the minority among SDSU fans. Getting this team to where it is now from where it was after Miles left required a lot more than just being there.

          Sixth man? Not really.

We have Mitch Albom, we don't need Stu.

              Re: Stu Whitney

We Midwesterns do have thin skin.

Stu likes to write columns/blogs that rile people up or at least get them talking. That is what this blog entry was, and it appears Stu accomplished what he wanted.

There is one fact, however, that Stu writes that cannot be twisted -- 0-16 road record in the Summit. This would not be considered acceptable at many other programs.

                    Re: Stu Whitney

I'm just disappointed Stu's resorted to deceptive marketing to advertise his idea.

Of course, if it was a good idea (as in taking the 'always willing to spend other people's money, if only we could figure out what we want' self-appointed arena committee out to the woodshed---dang, they deserved that whipping and then some), maybe he wouldn't have to distort facts to make his argument persuasive.

You would have to compare a DII transitional school to be fair. Not sure there are many "big market" schools, if any, at the DII level or those that have moved up in the last 10 years. Even then to realize we are arguably less that 1 year removed from rock bottom showing drastic improvement.

The Jacks have reached my expectations this year and could easily exceed them. In December it wasn't obvious they would be there.

                        Re: Stu Whitney

Stu is Stu. Whether talking about a thick soup or a sportswriter, it is what it is.

IMO, Coach Nagy has done a sufficient through the transition and specifically this year to warrant one more crack at it next season.

To the incoming AD, I would guess he or she would give Coach Nagy next year. An AD's number 1 job is to keep their job (just like the rest of us), if you replace with your own guy right out of the gate and he falls on his face, now you're the AD who fired a fairly popular coach for some moron that can't tie his shoes. If you give Coach Nagy one more year and he botches it, you're the guy who is willing to make difficult decisions based on facts you have seen in person. Which situation speaks more of long term employment?

Your right...it's Stu so who cares, all everyone is doing is giving him a bigger ego...you can bet your bottom dollar he is snooping on here now eating all this up.

I don't read Stu anymore...always has a dark edge to his writing no matter what he is writing about. Seems he has a perma-chip on his shoulder. Probably a good business manager (getting things assigned, covered, and to press) and that is why he is here.

Stu can't take that Terry is twice the writter he is and Terry is 12 years younger. It makes him cranky and lash out at Terry's beat, us. His emotions make him write silly things.

A small price to pay to have Terry covering our Jacks.
