  • S. Utah - Back to some home cookin'

Enough of this teetering on the edge of the cliff and who's fault it is we're standing there contemplating about jumping. Get your tickets and make some noise as the Jacks get back on track against the also road weary Thunderbirds. They have one road win all year (sound familiar) so it's time to welcome them a rowdy rabbit den.

Only two more home games people, get out and back the Jacks!

Couldn't agree more. If there is a 2 game period where the guys need us to come out and make some noise it is the 2 games this week.

Meh. I went to the Oakland game. I made more noise than anyone in my general vicinity (although at times that was pretty hard to tell). The Jacks still lost the next two on the road.....

Well you know, making noise when the Jacks are on the road mainly just gets you funny looks from the wife and the pets . . .

Tonite's game is the "tougher" of the two this weekend. Very important for a good crowd to make it in tonite. Need this to be a win, VERY MUCH!

Preview article in the Argus today:

Jackrabbit men need wins at home to hold on to tourney hopes
            Terry Vandrovec • February 12, 2009

The skid will end at some point. Probably.

But for now, it's unrealistic to figure that the South Dakota State men's basketball team - 0-15 in conference road games since joining the Summit League - will be able to wrangle a win in Fargo, Tulsa, Okla., or Shreveport, La.

And that means that the next two games, the last two home games, tonight against Southern Utah and Saturday versus Missouri-Kansas City, may decide whether or not the Jackrabbits (10-15, 5-8) earn one of eight spots in the conference tournament next month in Sioux Falls.

Six of the 10 teams in the league - including SDSU - have five or six conference wins with three weekends left in the regular season. This week's contests are not only crucial in terms of wins and losses, but for potential tiebreaking scenarios.

"Everybody wants to talk about what if this, that and the other," Jacks coach Scott Nagy said. "But we can't control it. All we can control is getting ready for Southern Utah."

Re: S. Utah - Back to some home cookin'

All of us Jackrabbit fans have been longing for the day when every game at the end of the year is relevant. It's been a long time since that has been the case. This may not be the exact scenario we all wanted but the bottom line is these games are HUGE.

I'm looking forward to being in Frost tonight as well and cheering these guys on to a couple of home wins and getting them into the Summit Championships.

Let's all look at this as the opportunity that it is, we have a chance to get into the post season! Forget the past and let's support them and play our way into it!

Why does Casey find it necessary to shoot outside of the lane?
