Pork Classic weekend begins tonight at South Dakota State with a theme other than, well, pork.
Call it revenge.
The SDSU men kick off the four-game set by hosting Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne. The last time the teams met, the Mastodons claimed a 100-66 victory that the Jackrabbits described as embarrassing, humiliating and ridiculous.
IMO, this may the one of the biggest games of the year if not THE biggest game.
IPFW is a team that the Men need to beat to have a chance to go to Sioux Falls. For me, the Men making it to SF was the only goal I personally had for this team before the season even started.
A win tonight would avenge the worst effort of the year in that 34 point debacle a month ago in Fort Wayne, and would put them one step closer to reaching SF, and hopefully give them a confidence boost after losing the last three games by a total of TWO POINTS in regulation(Gawd, who does that happen to...honestly??).
Obviously if you asked Coach Nagy, he would say that just making it to SF was never the only goal, but at this point, making it to SF is the only way to get another shot at knocking off NDSU or ORU and possibly making a run, which everyone knows(including NDSU adn ORU fans) that in SF, anything can happen, especially this year in the Summit.
The run needs to start tonight!! Hope everyone that can, makes it out to Frost tonight...the guys are going to need everyone's help with this and for those of you that think the fans don't make a difference in the outcome of the game, you're wrong...just ask any player that's ever played at SDSU!!
