    Re: NDSU Friday Night

After seeing them not mail it in on Saturday after Friday's loss was a good sign, keep your heads up. Gotta win all of the home games from here on out to guarantee a bid in SF in March, and that includes Friday.

Saw NDSU broke the top 100 in RPI this week. Maybe this could be the biggest win to date?

Not true, unfortunately. The reporter confused RPI with the different rating systems from Sagarin(87) and Pomeroy(71). Our RPI is actually 129 at the moment.

BTW, SDSU is ranked 191 at Pomeroy, 234 at Sagarin, and 263-265 on the RPI sites.

First game down at the Frost. See you guys there! Any advice of a good bar before/after the game?

Cubbies is the only answer here, if you are looking for a sports bar. Other good bars are Skinners and O'Hares. Get to O'Hares for happy hour for the cheap appetizers and order the beef tips. Thank me later. These are prior to the game.

After the game I would recommend the same places plus the 9 Bar for some late night activities. Make sure to order a Brooklyn Hooker at the 9 if you go in there, right bigblue?

Huh...I thought I was well versed on the offerings of Brookings, but a Brooklyn Hooker is a new one for me!

If you really want to experience the delights of Brookings, head to Jim's Tap after the game and order a pitcher of Backpackers. Great stuff and very unique to that bar/Brookings.

Cubby's before the game, smoke free, great selection of draught beers and great food. Plenty of tv's. Skinner's or Cubby's again after the game. Again, a great selection of draught beers. Skinner's can get quite smoky. Jim's is great, best Guinness in town but its a damn health hazard it so smoky. The Safari and The 9 are for the younger crowd only. Ray's Corner is usually full of locals. I like O'Hares but its small and can get crowded in a hurry.

All of these pubs are located on main street in downtown Brookings. Just underwent a major renovation so please excuse any construction equipment or rubble. I hope to be downtown Friday night for a least a little while.

Backpackers at Jim's are very, very tasty.

I'm gonna have to disagree here, stay away from the 9 Bar unless you are looking for "frat" guys that want to fight. Skinners or Jim's would be my preference.

                      There are "Frats" at SDSU?

They have changed the apps prices at O'Hares to $5 each. There is no change in happy hour prices for them. But they do have happy hour prices on drinks.

Cubby's is going to be really packed on Friday. If you do plan on eating anywhere in Brookings, go early and beat the rush. If you get to any eating establishment after a big crowd, you could be pushing your arrival at Frost Arena for general admission seats to the top rows.
Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--

Man alive, when I saw the frat houses at Arkansas.......

Heck, drive around the U dot sometime. Their frat houses are pretty impressive too all things considered.

I guess that's what happens when all the alums with money were engineering nerds while in school.

Heck. All the frat houses I remember except FH & AGR were in converted houses. Ceres is a real dump. If that thing's still there it's got to be about this close to being condemned. Lambda Chi Alpha was another building that looked like it was being propped up with empty beer cases.

Not, uh, that I went to frat parties or anything.

Late night activities = girls dancing, preferably with me. That's what I was referring to. I was just letting him know and besides I usually just sit in Cubbies or Skinners anyhow. I go to 9, have a Brooklyn Hooker because bigblue harasses me until I do, then head back to Cubbies. Then when they do last call, go next door to Jim's. You can always get one more in before they do last call.

I think BTown is on track with the Backpackers as well. We have to stop this though, I feel like I need to get in my car and head up for the weekend with all this talk, but there is no way I can pull that off.

Man we are off topic. GO JACKS! Beat the Bison!
