This actually is a 2012 recruit.

I would be very interested in him for either. I watched Darrius play in two basketball games this year and he was impressive. I don't know how it would translate to a high level of D1 basketball, but the Class A guards in Nebraska could not stay with him.

Nice to see our sights our set high. Can anyone share those recruits who have offers and attended the elite camp this week. I can't imagine this is any kind of guarded secret.

Roughly 80-100 kids are expected to attend. Maybe five of them already have scholarship offers from the Jacks.

TV expects at least 5 young men that we have already offered. Mitchell previously provided this list of 4:

Unsure if all these guys are at the camp and who else might be there that we have offered. Would be nice to get an update from TV or someone else.

I would rather bank the scholarship and get another Heemstra or Dykstra next fall than sign a reach JUCO. I think it would be better for the long-term success of the program. But that's just me. At this point, we have enough guys to fill all the minutes of each game (if everybody stays healthy). More concerning are practice players who can push the primary players every day there isn't a game.
My guess would be that landing the player from ASU would be a long shot. But I think it would be beneficial to get him for the development of players like Heemstra and Dykstra. Here's a kid who has some Pac10 experience. He could be an upperclassman that helps develop those two. Even if Heemstra and Dykstra are very skilled/talented, they are still freshmen. Yes, I do believe freshmen can make positive impacts, but they are "unknowns" at the D1 level. We just don't know...yet.

I've also stated this before on this board but WE NEED MORE DEPTH. Yes, we can field a very good top __(fill in your own number) rotation of players. But we all know depth is key, especially if we're counting on freshmen (the unknowns). As SF_Rabbit_Fan stated above, "if everybody stays healthy". Well, it's a part of team sport that everybody does not stay healthy all season.

While I can appreciate the concern (and believe me, I would love to see some signings as well), I can't help but wonder if the coaching staff is going to hold on to some of the available scholarships for next year's recruiting class.

I think it would behoove all of us to temper our expectations with some perspective. This late in the recruiting process, who exactly do we think we would be getting? A JUCO or high schooler that was passed over by almost every other DI in the country.

first of all this is 2011 recruiting class in which the Jacks have a verbal from the best kid in the state.

second, this late in recruiting class its hard to get anyone to come in that will help you.... of the kids left the big programs have figured out who is leaving for the draft and the process trickles all the way down....

third the signing period ended I believe May 19th, meaning we won't hear of any "signing"

fourth the Jacks have 2 really good recruits and 2 kids coming off redshirts (Carlson and White) of those four I think the chances of finding anyone that is going to come in and contribute as much as them this late is hard to do.

The best hope for the Jacks is to land the ASU transfer, and then hope that some kid who thought he was high mid-major was left holding the bag as the scholarship offer never came, but until now you don't even know who those recruits are.

I think it is unanswerable from the fans, and the coaches continue to work on it, but I'm not sure they expect to find somebody who is going to see a lot of playing time at this stage of the game...unless that very rare find comes along...and then we will hear!

Here's an article about Lindberg from Wissports.net.

    http://wissports.net/sports/hoopsb/b...123&id=1149082

It mentions that USD & NDSU are starting to show interest as well. Sounds familiar from last year when we were on another PG early only to see some area programs try and jump in towards the end.
