  • Searching for a Bright Future

    Argus article:

"I don't think any of us knew what we were getting ourselves into," said Cadwell, a 6-foot-3 guard who led the Jacks with 15.6 points a game as a redshirt freshman. "It definitely was fun and a great experience. We played against good competition - what more can you ask for?

"But it knocked our confidence down a little. We could play with them for a little while, but their depth and strength allowed them to outlast us for the most part."
    "I think we'll be OK"

That's a good trio of stories about SDSU basketball in the Sunday Argus Leader (March 26). Chris Solari takes a hard but fair look at the men's and women's teams and tournament prospects. Going D-1 should mean more media attention, good or bad. SDSU is on a slow but solid enough course to eventually come out high on the positive side.

The NCAA's BB Championships showed two things....

      1) a strong TEAM with a strong bench will win over a single superstar team when the title's on the line.

      2) That the RPI's work pretty well at getting the right GROUP into the playoffs, but that in play-offs it's still a game-by-game crap shoot.

Best of luck to Nagy/AJ in lining up OOC games with the mid/low portions of the ACC/B-10/B-12/ MoValley/WAC/ MWC/ BigEast.

BTW - Hope we can schedule games against the top teams in each of the conferences where the women outranked champs.
