I heard the play-by-play guys defending that call. It was something else.

To wit: When a player grabs a rebound and then falls over both of his feet have left the floor. Therefore, the instant they touch the floor again the player has traveled. It was deemed 'a good call.'

And that was my 'home-r moment of the night'.

Although, in all honesty, a lot of borderline calls went against the Grizzlies in the first half. I don't think the refereeing was, overall, onesided as much as it was, overall, typical Summit fare--with no two officials having the same 'theory' about what constitutes a foul.

Oakland has some big guys up front that are strong and physical. No way could the Jacks stop the inside throws for dunks that they were doing. Kangas will always kill from downtown. Should have kept that Jones from the layups to start the second. I hate to say it but it seems like the refs just give Oakland some leeway on fouls and call it tight against the other team, maybe cause Kampke has been coaching for so long at Oakland and the Jacks are still the new kids on the block they need to be taught a lesson or something.

Kai was still in mid air when the call was made. I yelled " at least let him come down before you make the call" and an Oakland booster agreed with me.

You guys are right on about that call. I think most of the crowd was confused by it, yet as the home crowd we can't help but cheer, you know?

By the way, this is my first time on the board. It is really nice to see SDSU has such committed fans.

How dare you post my picture without asking me first. j/k The one thing that stood out to me about the Oakland game was the scoring. Five players in double digits is a nice improvement. It goes to show other teams we have more than one player they need to pay attention to. Garrett did have a hot night shooting, but anytime a team makes 50% of their 3-pointers, that should start opening up the middle (AC did well down low). If SDSU could have had their 'true' center playing (AC is really a power forward in my opinion--and I'm not saying AC isn't doing a good job, I'm just saying he is playing out of position), they could have been spreading the court more.
Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--

Stopping the inside game and dunks has to be the number one concern about stepping up on defense. It seems like every loss of recent has meant the oppontent was shooting over 50 per cent. I suppose you can tighten the zone and force outside shots, but everyone seems to have a Kangas too who can shot the lights out.

I remember Kangas from last year, he is a very good perimeter shooter and Oakland seems to have the plays for him.

I think we need to keep playing Mark Engen, as I think SDSU has had much bigger projects than Mark in the past. He is not that bad of player, he just needs playing experience and at times he shows ability and has a good attitude. I think tires some, but more play might stop that from happening too.

It will be interesting to see how the Bison do against Oakland.
