  • Depth and well rounded classes

I think SDSU already has or will turn the corner next year. The last 4 years there have only been 4 players or less when you put the Junior and Senior classes together.
This year there are only 2 seniors and 1 is a walk-on. After that, the classes will even out. There are 3 seniors(4 with Deboer), 6 juniors, 2 sophmores(4 with Peterson and Nick), and 3 freshmen. The junior class is a little heavy but I don't see us ever getting back 4 upperclassmen total.
I don't know if Peterson and Nick will play and/or get scholarships but they will add to the team. I guess we don't know the situation with Davis either. That would cut it down to 5 juniors but we could add another player somewhere else.
The football players were helpful but I would take a Peterson with 3 years of practicing with the team over them. Wagner might have been the exception. I remember one game when Andy Kleinjan was playing power forward. If Andy was on next years team, he would be the 2nd smallest player on the team. I guess Callahan and Tivis will be shorter but you get my point. Michael even has a bigger frame but 5 inches is a lot to make up.

Next year will be by far the deepest team state has had in a long time.... Pederson should see some floor time, hes a really good outside shooter and a physical guy also.... Rader will need to muscle up but I saw some high school footage of him and the kid can light it up.... and we all know about White and Feigen.... Nick seems to be at least a decent player and at worst helps out in practice..... we also have another scholarship that we can give out for next year.....

I don't have any inside info or anything but my understanding was that they figured out what was wrong with it and its one of those injuries where you could come back 100% or you might not come back at all....

Nothing specific, but heard this weekend that things generally look better for Anthony. Probably no way of knowing anything for sure though for quite some time.

I asked Anthony during our final presentations for one of our classes and he said that it is going much better. He is excited for next year and is sorry that he isn't contributing this year. At the end of the semester he wasn't wearing his boot with the stimulater in it and only had to wear it for an hour every night. Hopefully we will see him next year on the court!

That does sound like a good future towards healing for Anthony. Was looking forward to seeing him play for the Jacks this year after the transfer but maybe we will see him play next year. Hope his healing continues in the right direction.

Nick Selken, Sioux Falls Lincoln Class of '07. I remember him best for his speed on the floor.

Thanks. Selken is a walk-on, huh? ... Has DeBoer been hurt? He hasn't played much, even though the Jacks have needed height.

Deboer was never meant to play, I think he's just there for practice.

Selken is a practice player who may get to walk on next year and DeBoer is hurt from what I hear.

Here is the line down of what I see next year if Davis can play...
                          PG- Sargent
                          SG-Garrett
                          SF-Kai
                          PF-Corodva
                          C-Davis

+ there is still a scholarship to give out and Brayden Carlson will most likely redshirt.... if Davis can't play or doesn't start I'd probably move Cordova to C and start Feigen....

Hopefully in the next couple years we can get to the point where we can redshirt nearly all of the incoming freshman. Many positives come from doing that.
