I'm starting a new thread which will, I hope, concentrate more on the Iowa State Cyclones and tonight's men's basketball game and less on . . . peripheral subjects.

I think this is how we got over the hump...Filbert's starts a new thread earlier today.

I had the pleasure of calling my brother's house and asking for his Iowa State student son...asked if he could tell me the score of the game. He couldn't. So I did.

This has been a long time coming, kind of a signature win on the road for us. We caught them at the right time, they're thinking about other things. We were really good defensively tonight, we rebounded that team and they're a lot bigger than us, that tells you how hard we played.

Anthony Cordova was a beast in there. When you've got a kid in the post who can score, that puts a lot of pressure on the other team.

The old hack-a-shaq, we finally had to take him out. Had we made our free throws, we'd have won by double figures, but the kids made the effort.

That one rebound by Kai, he really came around for us tonight. I've been on Clint's case about rebounding, he proved me wrong tonight.

We tried to space our timeouts before the media timeouts, just to give them a break. It was a great win, it was a lot of fun. We just have to get Mike going, he can score for us.

We forced 16 turnovers, we were so sharp defensively, it was fun to watch. I know you wanted us to play zone, Steve, but I'm so stubborn, I don't want to play zone.

It makes Christmas a lot better, be enjoyable for the kids, a lot of them will be leaving from here to go home. This gives us great confidence, we go back into the conference on the road.
