Eric Maynor will probably be the best player both offensively and defensively we face all year as well.

        Hey Jackrabbit fans!

VCU fan here. We are looking forward to welcoming you all to Richmond for our game this Wednesday. We just had our season opener today against our first opponent from the preliminary round of the Cancun Challenge in The Citadel out of the SoCon (Davidson's conference). The Rams prevailed 82-59 led by T.J. Gwynn's 20 points on 8-8 shooting from the floor. Eric Maynor had 12 points and 7 assists in what is an off game for him. He's certainly quite a player and the reigning CAA player of the Year. He is likely a late first round draft pick this year. It should be a good contest between our two schools. To any fans who are coming down, I wish you a safe trip and a pleasant stay in Richmond!

Welcome to the board districtballer. A question I have for you is this: does the live streaming video on your website really work and is it good quality? I'm planning my Wednesday evening around this game.

            Re: VCU Game Thread

VCU is lead by head Coach Anthony Grant, who is one of the "good" guys in coaching in the college ranks. He served under Billy Donovan at Marshall and Florida and was on staff in the 90's when Mike Miller was a member of the Gators. He has had a great deal of success at VCU since being named the head coach and helped to turn the program around. Should be fun to play a great opponent on Friday and a good test for the Jackrabbits.

The feed really works, the quality is decent. Might have some minor lagging or stuff like that but for the most part it is a decent feed.

looking forward to the game tomorrow

Its going to be tough for our guys to hang with VCU. We are going to have to shoot the lights out, win the board battle and turn the ball over less than 10 times to even have a shot. That said, we could do all those things and give them a game. Nagy and the guys know that VCU has some serious talent. Should be interesting.

I am mainly interested to see the intensity that the team can bring to the court tonight. Even if they lose this game, if they can bring their best effort and fight for it, I will be satisfied.

The idea at this stage is to get prepared for the conference season.

I agree. The final score isn't necessarily the most important part of this game. I'd like to see a time when we expect to win a game like this and I know we will. We just aren't there as a program right now.

So, I'll take a solid 40 minute effort. Try to value the ball, play even on the boards, make some FT's and maybe, just maybe, shoot the lights out and stay in this game.

My girls have gymnastics and the wife has bowling so I'm the chauffeur and babysitter (don't tell my wife I said that) tonight. I'll be listening from the truck.
