  • Mario Brandon

Since everyone is curious about Mario Brandon's situation I am here to elaborate. As of right now no one knows when he will be back but he is at home in Illinois. The team is perplexed about what is going on or when he will be back. So I dunno maybe we should have the Brandon family in our prayers.

I hope that everything turns out all right for Mario and his family. In the meantime, I'm wondering if the Red Sox Curse got transferred to our men's basketball program........ :-? :-? :-?

      Re: Mario Brandon

Are you talking about a run of bad luck with Juco players or just a long history of Juco players that really pan out?

      What?... :-?

I think he is refering to various situations involving players like Joe Green, Matt Jones, Jake Weinig, Steve Holdren, Mo and Dre.

Yeah, I'm talking about the bad luck that our men's basketball program has gone through. You can add Beran to the list of players bluehat mentioned. There are couple of games that also make you wonder..... :-?

              Re: Mario Brandon

Bad luck to say the least. I hope Mario will be back soon.

Nagy has had a tough go of it. He was at the game again today, as he always is.

Expectations for this team should be tempered by the fact that none of these kids were recruited by DI teams. Callahan had 1 offer from a DI team.

I look for 8 or 9 wins this year. To expect anymore than that is unrealistic. Not impossible but not expected. Just accept that and look for them to improve each game.

For what it's worth, I believe Kia Williams picked the Jacks over Eastern Kentucky. I guess that doesn't necessarily mean he had an offer, but my guess would be that he did.

Dang. I hope Mario is OK and comes back. This team needs his size and experience.

They were all recruited by SDSU!

I say expect to win every game.

We may have to settle for less but our expectations should never be to fail.

I believe you are correct, I should have said very few were recruited by other DI teams.

The way I figure it is: Coach Nagy offered him a scholarship. That's good enough for me. He's family now.

Win or lose, up or down, he's a Jackrabbit, and I wish him the best in everything from here on out. First and foremost, I want him to have a happy and successful life. I hope that includes many basketball victories wearing the yellow and blue, but that will play itself out. Whatever the issue is, I don't really need to know, and I'm not sure I care. I just hope it works out well for him.

                              Yeah, not really.

Disappointed doesn't begin to describe the way I feel about the men's basketball program since the tansition to DI.
