  • Shoeless Nagy

    Heard about this last night.

Coach Nagy has been working on getting involved in Samaritan's Feet, which is the same thin IUPUI coach Ron Hunter is involved in. Teaming with the South Dakota National Guard, Nagy wants to collect more than 150,000 pairs of sneakers for people in Haiti and Suriname and is planning to go shoeless against NDSU at home to raise awareness.

    Re: Shoeless Nagy

I've heard a little bit here and there about this organization, and it sounds like a good cause. But forgive me for wondering, does coach Nagy have the feet to pull it off? I for one realize that I do not have attractive feet and would think twice about exposing them to the world no matter what benefit others could get from it.

That being said, I'm sure his tootsies will look marvelous and help raise awareness for a worthy cause.

Just as long as he doesn't use blue nailpolish to match his blazer

Thumbs up to Nagy for getting involved with that orginization.

I'm just wondering how he will get the team's attention without his patented "foot stomp"?
The noise he generates with his foot is unreal!

If they actually mopped down the student section I think we could get some of the students to go shoeless too.

He'll probably forget in the heat of the moment and break a bone or two . . . yikes!

This a great idea and hopefully we can come through and help with the cause...

I just want to hear more foot stomp and see the blazer come off some time during the game. Scott has seemed a little too civilized. I want MORE emotion from the bench. I want to see the old Scott Nagy again. If he get's more passion, maybe the team will too.

Coach was on The Sports Show this morning. The only thing he talked about was this cause.
He'll be on again on Friday(I think) to talk about the team.

30 second version of the Nagy Samaritan's Feet commercial. I think you'll be seeing this a lot at games and on the coaches shows and game replays:

There's some good news out there about the men's team.
Soon the feet of more than 400 needy children in Haiti and Suriname will be looking and feeling good in a new pair of shoes. Shown above are the more than 400 pairs (sizes 3 to 9) collected so far at the University Book Store at South Dakota State University.

From left to right, SDSU sophomore Hannah Krueger, junior Katie Conatser and recent graduate Andrea Domeier, all volunteers of the drive, show off the collection earlier this week.
