    Re: Central Florida

That first out of bounds alley-oop to kai was the best dunk I've ever seen in frost. He had to reach way back to get it and than posterized the guy in front of hlm. The guys played pretty well last night and if it wasn't for that kid hitting those last 3 shots for UCF we probally would have come back and won. Next up is Butler, hopefully it's SDSU's turn to get the upset.

Terry's got a new blog about the game last night.
So the SDSU men finally host a major-conference opponent, albeit a relative newcomer to a slumping league, and the attendance (1,500) and the noise level (zzzz) … drops?
SDSU is still SDSU; it’s your team. Division I is Division I (read: better than Division II) because of the OTHER teams.

Do not want to take anything away from Kai's dunks. They were great, but if they were the best you ever saw in Frost, then you obviously never saw Matt Jones or Chris White to name just a couple.

Saw both of them play and none of them compared to Kai's first inbounds last night.

Point Blank the hardest and sweetest during a game.

Respect your opinion, but disagree. Although Kai's first dunk was great, it was off of a set in-bounds play. The dunk of Matt's that I remember looked very similiar to Kai's, it also was one-handed, but he started in the 2nd position lined up to rebound following a free-throw and wnet right over the top of the defender.

No, No, No, since Kai's was last night and freshest in our memories his was the best. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Set in bounds play or not, I have witnessed every dunk Matt made during a game at Frost arena. Yes he had some sweet ones but if you looked at the highlight last night (Coke Play of the Game), Kai, outstretched, had to avoid the charge after he faced his opponent with athourity. Both Matt and Kai's long arms lend to making sweet sweet jams (in the past, the present and the future).

Kai's last night was simply sweet and the fact is, as he gains more confidence we will continue to see this and against a higher level of competition.

No, I'm bigger than you. Matt's is the best, Kai's is a close second. Both sweet.

                  Re: Central Florida

I never saw Chris White play, but did watch Matt Jones and would agree that he had some amazing dunks.
I'm not going to argue who's dunks where better, I'm just glad we have young players to be excited about.
This team is one decent big man away from being a solid team. I think Cordova will help out alot next year but we still need at least
one player in the 6-8 to 6-10 250 lb true center that can provide defense and rebounding.
Callahan looked sharp last night, and Kai is playing more aggressive.

I think Matt's and Kai's dunks that you are refering to were equally great. The difference is now we have a video board and we got to see Kai's replay a couple of times.

Okay. It's a tie. I am the happiest that all of the dunks were by players in Jackrabbit uniforms.

I saw all of Matt's, didn't see Kai's, but what about the one Greg Himler had against USD way back when (early '90's). Granted, he got called for traveling, but he posterized three Yotes on a thunderous tomahawk. den, you gotta remember that one.

Kai's dunks, especially the first one (a one-handed tomahawk) were as good as I've ever seen an SDSU player make, and I've been watching since the Winzenjammer days.

Kai's second dunk was pretty good, although he probably should have gotten a technical for hanging on the rim and/or slapping the backboard after the dunk, so you have to take style points away for that.

Filbert you're letting your age show. Don't you know in this day and age that you get rewarded style points for hanging on the rim and/or slapping the backboard. Geez.

I was at FROST and witnessed the Greg Himler dunk- It was IMHO the BEST ever in FROST. It was truly amazing and I still speak of it often when discussing SDSU basketball lore and history. I hope that Kai can surpass it in his career at State!!!!!
