    Re: Cal State Northridge

Not to bring NDSU down here, but you're aware that WSSU has managed to win 1 D-I game so far this season, and struggled with a D-III school right? For reference, Notre Dame beat them 90-45 earlier this season, and they have 3 wins, 2 against non-D-I opponents. NDSU may very well be a great team this season, but crushing these guys doesn't impress me. I kind of wish the jacks had a game against them this season.

Not to get smackish, especially in my first post, but that terrible team still has an RPI better than you guys (304 compared to 319).  Before you start putting down teams, you might want to see where they rank compared to you.

Maybe if we had 4 Non-DI schools on our schedule we'd have a better record and RPI like the bison.

Very good points, I was not aware that WSSU was having a season so similar to ours. I don't think NDSU is unbeatable by any means but their win over Marquette deserves some respect. I suppose you can think we are as good a team as NDSU right now if you want but I won't choose to join you in that course of logic. However, we beat them at home last year when they had a better team and we can do the same this year.

            RPI doesn't count non-D-I games.

Exactly, if it did NDSU's RPI would be around 250 instead of 125 because their strength of schedule would be much worse than it currently shows in the RPI ranking.

Yeah, the RPI doesn't include the non-D-I games they've played. I think next year I'll send an email to Nagy though, telling him to schedule several top 25 teams again, so that we can win a single D-I game and be "better" than other basketball teams, because we showed up in the same gym as a top 25 team (Notre Dame in this case). Seriously, does anybody really think that between 280 and 330 in the RPI shows that 280 is better than 320? If you do, you have to much faith in computers.

Hey, I didn't say we were as good a team as NDSU by any means, its just that your comment about them killing us because they beat WSSU puzzled me. If you had said "The bison beat Marquette this season, we're going to have to have our best game to compete with that team", than I wouldn't have said anything. I guess I just didn't understand why you were impressed with a victory over WSSU, thats all.

I think this thread got hi-jacked.

I did catch the post game, was impressed by Jose's comments and he seems to have a good head on his shoulders and if the rest of the team is on the same page, they do know what they need to do.

Nice to hear Nagy very dissapointed with things, if that makes sense :-/
