  • UTPA--The Rematch

    Time for our guys to pick themselves up, dust themselves off, believe a bit more in themselves, and come out aggressive against a team they've already beaten once this season.

    The second time is harder, and playing at their place makes it harder still. But I persist in saying that these Rabbits are better than they think they are right now.

    Go Rabbits!!!

      Broncs looking to rebound against SDSU

      February 15,2007
      Wade Baker
      Monitor Deputy Sports Editor

      EDINBURG — South Dakota State has dropped nine of its past 10 games, but don’t remind University of Texas-Pan American coach Tom Schuberth about the Jackrabbits’ lone victory during the grueling stretch.

      That one victory, as Schuberth would like to forget, came Jan. 27 against the Broncs in Brookings, S.D.

      "I don’t need to be reminded of that," Schuberth said of the 82-67 defeat. "But I pointed that out to our guys. I told them we’re playing a team that’s 1-9 in its past 10 games, and that one win was against us. To me, that should sting a little bit." . . . (read more)

          I've got the ladies cued up on SDSU's excellent web stats tracker and Steve Imming up on the WNAX webcast (mainly because UTPA uses the dreadful CSTV Gametracker);

          I've got UMKC-Oakland muted on the TV on Kansas City's MetroSports . . .

          I'm ready for a basketball night!

                      Another frustrating start . . . two quick Frias turnovers, now Kai dribbles it off his foot . . . 7-0 UTPA.

                      12-6 Jacks on the ladies side.

                          Good start for UTPA. Not good for us.
