The wing is probally the depest position on the jacks team so unless they are going to contribute I wouldn't be against redshirting them.
I am not 100% sure, but I think in D1 if they play in a game, they cannot be redshirted. They are allowed to play in exhibition games. Nicole Helspar on the women's team only played in the exhibitions. Correct me if I am wrong.
I thought I heard something during the pre-season NIT that your are aloud to play 3 games before the semester, and still recieve a red-shirt I could be wrong though and its like 7 for a medical redshirt. Maybe your just allowed to dress for 3 games or since they were pre-season they didn't count I don't know I just remember hearing it somewhere.

The NCAA site talks about redshirting. It states that if your in 1 game that counts as a season.

If our young players keep developing, keep working hard in the off-season, and keep the faith, their reward will be a Frost Arena that will be as loud and enthusiastic as any venue in college basketball.  (Even without the cowbells, if and when the Mid-Con cracks down on us   ).

        The Rabbits will rise again!
Filbert is on the money here.  Believe it or not, one of the reasons we returned to SD was to be closer to SDSU.  With the Mid-Con affiliation, retention of players like Kai, and continued support from admin. SDSU will return to prominence in Men's basketball.  I have no doubt about that.  With that return you will see the fans come back.  Let Kai and the other players know that the fans are here.
I agree with both of you about the fact that Jacks Men's Basketball will rise again and the fans will come.

Filbert is also rigth about 4,000 being to low and we need to think double that.

If you look at the media guide for the team, there have been eight years in which SDSU has averaged more than 4,000 per game.  Granted those were years where we won a lot of games but my point is that once things turn around and the team is competitive in the Mid-Con, it seems to me that we will probably see record numbers in Frost Arena!  It will also mean peak games that sell out (8,000+) and an atmosphere that is tough to beat!  The fans will rise up when it happens!

If things fall right, that could happen as soon as next year!  This team is way overdue for some good fortune! Now, that's the eternal optimist in me but I like the way things are shaping up!

        IT WILL HAPPEN!!!!

Well, to break single-game attendance records, we're going to have to build a new arena, and breaking the season attendance total is going to be tough because of how scheduling works in D-I . . .

          But I'm willing to give it a go . . .

            Mrs. Williams,

I am very excited about next year and think things will be entirely different for a number of reasons.

SDSU has been a basketball school for years and the fans are itching to get better and compete in the Mid-Con and ultimately for a spot in the NCAA's. If nothing else, the fact that conference games are scheduled on better nights of the week will make a big difference.

With the nucleus of players here and those returning along with a few new faces, next year could be a major turnaround. We just need to avoid any suprises in the offseason and get these kids fired up again because this season has no doubt been tough.

Your son is going to have a great career here and he is really a nice young man. You should be very proud of him!
