  • Re: 2010 Recruits

The name Deb Remmerde (related to her through marriage) comes to mind (she's from Rock Valley also).

Anyway, would love to have Jordan as a Jackrabbit!

Could you imagine 6'9 Dykstra, 6'8 Heemstra, 6'8 Fiegen, 6'7 White, 6'5 Carlson, 6'5 Horstman, 6'3 Wolters to go along w/ young players Grif Callahan, Rader, etc?!?!?! That would be our top 7 for a few years and could be one of the best groups of Jackrabbits ever!

Who said there isn't enough local talent to be competitive at the D1 level? Jordan would look great in a Jacks uniform.

There was also an article with similar comments in the des moines register today as well

I don't think that story has been told yet, but on paper it looks good and time will tell!

If Dykstra committs it will be interesting to see what happens with Gruis as believe we will be out of scholarships. I don't think anyone is going to have the luxury of waiting until fall to commit as they might on the outside looking in!

Another article on Dykstra with a few additions. It did not appear the person writing this article knew Heemstra has made a verbal committment to SDSU.

In his own words..... says that to be successful in Big 12 he would have to quit doing other activities he loves and has played basketball with Marcus since he was a 4th grader and would love to continue to play with him....

The way I look at this is its good all the way around..... ISU offered Jordan thinking he could become a SF.... He never really did..... ISU wanted him to devote 100% to basketball and he had reservations in doing so. Coming from a small town I understand its hard to tell your friends I can't do something or go out for something because of basketball....

I think there is a good chance he ends up going to SDSU however in reading everything it sounds just like he doesn't care about basketball right now he wants a break.... which is good for him take a break have fun and figure out the future kid......

I don't think he is taking a break from basketball. He is playing on a summer basketball team for the Martin Brothers AAU team, so I am sure he playing in a lot of tournaments this summer. I am not sure what kind of break you are talking about?

I'm not saying he is going to quit basketball or anything..... by break I meant more on the line of recruitment.....

KELO TV had the Dykstra story tonight -- withdrew verbal to ISU etc. They quote his mom saying he was very interested in SDSU.

As I said before, according to my sources, SDSU would be his first choice. I'm not sure how interested we are but I know we are interested. I suspect we'll have more information about our level of interest next week.

Another article on Dykstra is the Ames paper. Rivals list of top power forwards has Dykstra at #32.

This is EXACTLY what SDSU need. This kid falling into their lap would make this team great!

                                Like someone stated before:

                                6'9" Dykstra, Heemstra
                                6'8" Fiegen
                                6'7" White
                                6'5"-6'6" Carlson, Horstman
                                6'4" Wolters

SDSU would have height, shooting, talent, someone in the middle, and a point guard!

The earlier we hear a committment from him the more likely we'll get him I bet. He's going to get a lot of offers from now until the signing period in November. I wonder what Cadsev would say about him? You out there?
