Big kid but very raw and probably falls into the "project" category although as a lot of athletic ability for a kid his height and weight. I don't have his weight listing but he is a well built kid. Also plays football for Emmetsburg.

Cadsev would likely be able to confirm this info.
I bet you are right. He looked like a big kid and if I might add somewhat "raw" as well. I have no problem bringing in a "project" now that we have seemingly survived transition.

I would assume he is a 2011 recruit?

Klink was escorting another recruit and his parents as well. He looked to be at least 6'10". Anyone know who that was. I didn't have a chance to meet him.

hmm... that probably means there won't be a second game against Heelan like I thought there would be, as it appears the rescheduled date must have been added, but the old date was not subtracted from the posted schedule.

Here is the write up by the Sioux City Journal for the game played on the 11th:

Digging a little more, I was able to find the following link on the Rock Valley website.

    http://www.siouxlandconference.org/g...el=&category=0

Shows that the game was originally meant to be played last night, but got rescheduled for Monday, January 11 instead. Like you, I have not seen any stats for this game.

I could not find a score for the Rock Valley vs. Bishop Heelan game anywhere on the web or in the paper, which makes me wonder if the game was rescheduled/canceled. Just to prove I am not crazy, here is the Maxpreps.com schedule for Rock Valley that shows there was suppose to be a game last night.

The tournament in Minneapolis with that game was cancelled. Dykstra and Heemstra were in attendance, talked with a couple players afterwards who said they were there.

For those who are not familiar with Sioux City basketball, Heelan is a power house in Sioux City, as recent athletes that have come out of that school are Brenden Coughill (Iowa), Brandon Wegher (Iowa), Pat Grace (UNI), and our very own Clint Sargent. This year they have University of Iowa basketball commit Zach McCabe on the team, and should be in line for another state title run.

This will be the toughest team Rock Valley will play all year (and that includes their future run through the State 1A Tournament) and one of the best teams in the state of Iowa. As a Jacks fan, it will be interesting to see how Dykstra and Heemstra play against some stout competition, as they preformed well last time, but didn't quite pull out the win.

How did this game turnout? Did our recruits perform well?

Too bad it is on the same night as the Oakland doubleheader. That would have been worth the trip. I'm sure those two wouldn't have minded watching the games in Frost tonight either.

They are going to look great with a Jacks jersey on!

It is also impressive that Heimstra averages over 5 assists/game and Dykstra averages over 4/game. I am sure they love to feed each other. These two young men should be fun to watch at Frost the next four years.

Both averaging double doubles. Dykstra 24 and 12, Heemstra 18 and 11. I say that's impressive.

You have to like seeing 13 assists from a 6'10" player.
