I was reminded, again, how frustrating it is to watch this form of basketball. Regardless if you are shooting like crap, just keep launching it up from downtown with the hope that something will fall. I'm looking forward to today's women's game because there is no "hero ball" and they are always looking for the best shot. The men ought to take a lesson.

That was an absolute collapse. Yes Eaglestaff had a career night but being up 14 then going 1-26 in the last half was unacceptable. We made little adjustments in the half as we fell behind. Lots of growing to be done in the offseason for the staff and players both. Thankful we had a year with Cluff but feel bad we don’t have any hardware to show for it. We will need to probably bring in a few portal pieces who can elevate our level of play. Much work to be done.

I thought we were able to get mostly ok looks. Just really unlucky nothing would fall. Hard to play without a point guard. Jackson. Sayler, Gary, Lyndsey are all not point guards and clear 2’s in my opinion. Team didn’t have enough time to adjust to Larsons injury and even then would never have been a great personnel fit.
Just hope these guys run it back. If guys like Hadnot, Jackson Wilkinson take a leap forward could be a great team. Have to think there will be transfers that see what Cluff did and look to replicate it as well.
Please stay Hendo!

For the "game means nothing" crowd, doesn't it demonstrate the Jacks could have as good a chance as any of regaining Summit supremacy next season?
No one expected Mavs to be in this position this season.
Having said that, I'll admit I won't be watching the MBB Championship

Worst case scenario for the League and tournament. Neither SD school and a virtual exhibition game that will be missing March drama. I doubt I could even give our tickets away. It is what it is.
Absolutely we could be right back in this game next year. About anyone could say that these days. No one knows what their team will look like until fall!

Really curious to see what the attendance is tonight. I know I will not be attending.
Between a 8 PM start on a Sunday night and the dumb decision to let the Tommies in the tournament, they made their bed and get to sleep in it tonight.

I feel like the whole this is meaningless thing is more than a bit overblown!
was the game meaningless to UST? it seems more than obvious that they wanted to win and would as motivated as they could possibly be to win this game. and they are still eligible for NON NCAA postseason play and being able to SLT winners might help their appeal a bit regarding those invitations
and UNO has NEVER won a tournament title. did we really think they were going to show up and play like the game was meaningless just because their NCAA fate was predetermined?
there was ONE thing that was meaningless- the NCAA bid was already locked up. but both of these teams wanted to win this game very badly!!
congratulations to UNO on completing the regular season champ, SLT champ double! they seemed to play some of their best ball after losing the game to us. they finished VERY STRONG. Sutton is a fantastic player and was very underrated going into this season- congratulations to him also for the regular season / SLT MVP double
on a different note and just for the sake of conversation-
not that it matters, but Jamaar Brown probably deserved to be on the All Tourney team more than Eaglestaff. Eaglestaff pulled an all time one hit wonder. he followed it up with a game that looked a lot like what our players looked like in our loss to his squad.
SIX points (almost as if fate wanted to rub salt in the wound after he goes off for 50+ vs the Jacks) on 2-6 FGs and 0-2 3pt FG (after hitting 8 freaking 3s vs the Jacks), ONE rebound and 7 turnovers. UST is a solid defensive team but they are not anyone's version of a GREAT defense. they are absolutely a team that wins with offense. and be every measure a significantly worse defensive team than the Jacks
there should have been every expectation that if he goes off for 51 vs the Jacks, he comes out and puts up another strong game to help his team get to the title game. HE DID NOT!!
ZERO sour grapes. congratulations to him on a great game and one that he and many people will remember for a long long time!! and Brown played a FANTASTIC game very much carrying KC to the win over ORU and then he followed it up with THE SAME level of energy and effort and scored even more points vs the #1 seed. he could not really keep his team too close to UNO, but he did lead them and he did all that he could do in BOTH games. all tourney team awards really dont mean much and probably NOBODY really cares. but Brown played 2 great games and carried his team in both games. Eaglestaff played one unbelivable game and one that was actually quite unbelievably bad for a good player

I checked the box score for the championship game and it was 7597. Pretty respectable considering. I was glad that a descent number of fans where there like me to support the tournament and the league even if our team wasn't in the champtionship game. Now, the number did dwindle significantly after halftime but all in all I think that is a good sign for the tournament. The Zen philosopher Basha once wrote, 'A flute with no holes, is not a flute. A donut with no hole, is a Danish.'
