It ranks up there with the old PA guy cheering when a free throw was missed by visiting team. It follows the script of a middle school plan.

In the pregame show I heard a reference to the Interstate Series sponsored by First Interestate Bank: SDSU was leading the series for this school year, 8.5 to .5 prior to today's men's basketball game in Vermillion. I'm out of town today so couldn't watch on CBSSports...but I listened to the game with Tyler Merriam on 570 and followed along with Live Stats. It's always a pleasure to hear Tyler's play-by-play. It's been a couple hours since the clock ran down and I went online to check the official box score and the game attendance (3,942).
There's a link on gojacks.com to the Interstate Series:

With today's win, SDSU is now up 10.5 to .5 -- that's not a typo: its USD "five-tenths" and SDSU ten and five tenths. I've said before that I personally don't care for such contrivances (is First Interstate paying anything to USD and SDSU? I assume it probably is so take the money) but, geez, how is a 10.5 to .5 imbalance called a rivalry?
I'll say this: the Coyotes are playing some tough basketball at the right time of the year. So are the Jackrabbits. I think we've got the confidence, and have come together as a team, to get to a top 2 seek for the SLTourney. Every game counts in what's left of the regular season, really counts!

They host St. Thomas on Wednesday and then travel to Omaha and Fargo.

Feel bad for Garry, but the bench guys are able to contribute more. Impressed with Jackson and Hadnot, Wilkinson was solid in his time on the floor.
Was at the game. First time seeing this team and they were impressive. See the growth from what i can tell. Might be the team to beat come tourny time. Larson had a rough game but the refs allowed usd to get away with tons of contact on their full court press. Should have had w0 more fouls how much they hip checked and ran into our players."The most rewarding things you do in life, are often the ones that look like they cannot be done.” Arnold Palmer

I have to admit that the manner in which the antics of 'Yote players irks me underscores that they are rivals, if not necessarily exhibiting success equivalent to the Jacks now (which I am perfectly fine with)

I've always seen Yankton listed as his hometown, and I was unaware of any portions of Yankton being considered Clay County

Still have 12 minutes left to watch in the 2nd, but I was very surprised by how quickly the gamesmanship started in this one. Like immediately following USD's first bucket. Haven't seen much jawing by SDSU players but many of these USD verbal/non-verbal instances have been returned with physicality between plays.
