  • 2024-25 NET Rankings

    NET rankings through January 22:

    Summit rankings:

    NDSU - 95
    St. Thomas - 103
    SDSU - 108
    -------------------
    Omaha - 217
    Kansas City - 229
    USD - 249
    UND - 288
    Oral Rob - 330
    Denver - 332
(MS Valley State - 364 --- Last spot in all of Division 1 NCAA)

    --------------------

Jacks wins above our current ranking: 67 McNeese
Jacks wins below our current ranking: 322 Long Beach St (only a 1-point win, yikes), 273 Southern Miss, 148 Duquesne, 259 Missouri St, 252 Eastern Washington, 332 Denver, 288 UND, and 330 Oral Roberts.

Jacks losses above our current ranking: 51 Boise St (1 pt loss, that would have been a great one to get), 72 Nevada, 99 Colorado, 7 Alabama, 103 St Thomas
Jacks losses below our current ranking: 128 Northern Colorado, 212 Montana, 217 Omaha

    ---------------------

Potentially interesting note. The quadrant records in these NET rankings are not simply splitting the 364-team long list into 4 sections and tallying up the numbers. Per this article from NCAA (though slightly dated it seems), home, neutral, and away has a pretty big impact on defining the quadrants.

"Using the quadrant system, which was in its fourth season in 2020-21, the quality of wins and losses will be organized based on game location and the opponent's NET ranking.

    Quadrant 1: Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75
    Quadrant 2: Home 31-75, Neutral 51-100, Away 76-135
    Quadrant 3: Home 76-160, Neutral 101-200, Away 135-240
    Quadrant 4: Home 161-353, Neutral 201-353, Away 241-353"

Unfortunate how bad ORU has become. I mean thats truely horrid to be ranked in the 300s.

On the flip side it's good to see SDSU at least flirting with the top 100. Surely thats where they want to be.

New NET rankings after the win last night. Jacks now lead the summit at #100, up from 107 overnight after a Quad 2 win in Fargo. NDSU falls from 101 to 109 with the loss - their 3rd loss at home to a top summit school (SDSU, St. Thomas, Omaha).

Kansas City on a 6-game slide, falling to 2-6 in conference play. Lost by 19 at Omaha, 7 at NDSU, 4 at UND, 1 hosting SDSU, 3 hosting St. Thomas, and 1 at Denver. Rough slate of results there for the Roos who will very much be a dangerous team in Sioux Falls for what appears will be a mid-range seed.

      Games through 1/30/25
      SDSU - 100
      NDSU - 109
      St. Tom - 113
      Omaha - 208
      Kansas City - 238
      USD - 244
      UND - 292
      Denver - 326
      Oral Rob - 341

Remaining schedules for top-4 teams according to NET quadrants - SDSU the only one without a Q2 remaining on the schedule due to hosting all 3 others in February over a 2-week stretch.
      St. Tom - Q2 - 1, Q3 - 1, Q4 - 6
      Omaha - Q2 - 2, Q3 - 3, Q4 - 4
      SDSU - Q2 - 0, Q3 - 2, Q4 - 6
      NDSU - Q2 - 2, Q3 - 2, Q4 - 4
